It is being reported that Wall Stadium closing after 2020 season.  A housing development of approx 350 homes will take it's place.

However since the original report of the proposed shutdown/sale of speedway's 49 acre property, the Township of Wall,NJ has said the property is not zoned for residential and housing can not be built on the property due to it being in an airport safety zone.  They said there is no plans to re-zone the property.

Racing Discussion / Rain Friday for ROC weekend ?
« on: 26 Sep, 2017 19:03 »
Just wondering if anybody has any insight of what will happen if Friday at Lake Erie is rained out ?  Will they run the whole show on Saturday or push everything back one day ?  I'm going to make the trek down there but don't want to waste a day if the weather report is correct (60% chance of rain).

Racing Discussion / Small Field at Oswego
« on: 29 Aug, 2017 16:30 »
I see only 22 cars (20 MWMT regular cars plus two ROC cars)  entered for the 9/2 Oswego NWMT race.  Is this just a result of being toward the end of the season ?  Too much travel for the east coast teams ? Is it a result of the track itself ?  Was thinking of going, but can't justify putting out that kinda money for 2/3 of a field.

Racing Discussion / What a joke at Thompson
« on: 10 Aug, 2017 06:41 »
The end of the Bud 150 was pure bulls**t.  Preece spins intentionally to create a caution so he could get fresh rubber - NO PENALTY.  Coby hits the turn one wall and brings out a caution - no problem,  they give him second anyway.  Last night was a new low for the series.  Makes the other touring series look professional.

Racing Discussion / NWMT format for Stafford 150
« on: 29 Jul, 2017 18:55 »
The NWMT has decided to use a gimmicky format for next Friday's race.

1) Group qualifying

2) No more than three crew over the wall on pit stops

3) 4 tires available to change, but only 1 tire per stop

Not sure why the need for these changes, hopefully it works out

44 Team not running full schedule it at all
Blewett is not returning to #4 team - no word on their plans
9 team shutting down
8 team shutting down

Here's some comments from the Stafford 150:

"All and all,a pretty boring race, LFR car’s had them covered, and Showtime passed more cars in pits than on track I think, not to exciting"

"Sounded like their was at least a couple good laps. Another mod tour (bore)……"

Racing Discussion / Southern Tier and Notern PA Racers
« on: 08 Sep, 2011 18:09 »
I pray for all Southern Tier NY and Nothern PA racers, their families and their equipment as they endure the worst flooding that area has seen in a long time, if ever.
