BRP Dart Challenge Championship Next @ Little Valley
   …John Waters Looking For A Clean Sweep…

Little Valley, NY…John Waters will enter the Wednesday August 29 Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) Dart Challenge at Little Valley Speedway (LVS) undefeated in this year’s Challenge and headed for a repeat of his 2011 Challenge championship.

Only if Waters does not start the A-Main will he not be the 2012 BRP Dart Challenge Champion since Jason Knowles, second in the standings, trails by 60 points.  The point spread is 60 from first (100) to last (40).

“A clean sweep of all five races is, of course, what our team wants, but the odds of doing that are slim, especially at Little Valley. For sure we will be ready.  We have had a great year, but Little Valley is our toughest track.  It will be nice to go there with the points cushion we have, but make no mistake about it - we want to win the race! Having the Challenge championship on the same program as the (World of) Outlaws will be great for the Series and all of our teams.” reports Waters as he prepares his Troups Creek Auto Parts CRS Camaro for the Black Rock on Friday and Woodhull on Saturday.  After the weekend it will be a quick scramble to prepare for Little Valley on Wednesday.

“We have to keep on top of this deal.  We are leading in points at Black Rock (his Friday race place) and at Woodhull (his Saturday race place).  Not so good at Little Valley (tied for 6th), but we have two more races there so you never know.”

Waters is the only driver in the BRP Dart Challenge top ten that has a comfortable point margin.

If Jason Knowles looks over his shoulder he will see the smiling face of Jeremy Wonderling who sits third only 4 points behind Knowles. Jeremy has Jared Hill breathing down his back with just a six point deficit. The drivers are all vying for a top ten spot in the final standings since that is were the $3000 cash point fund will go. Of course, the race winner will earn $1000 from Little Valley Speedway.

More than cash – Perhaps more important than the cash are the Dart block and the Dart heads which are also part of the Challenge payoff.  The top ten plus all others with a perfect (5 race) Challenge attendance record will be included in the drawings for the Dart products.

Current point standings (top 15 of 32): John Waters – 400, Jason Knowles – 340, Jeremy Wonderling – 336, Jared Hill – 330, Bruce Miller – 310, , Mike Wonderling – 295, Dusty Waters – 276, , Mikey Wonderling – 270, Brian Knowles – 249,  Steve LeBarron – 234, Barry Payne – 232, Wally Wade – 215, Quinn Sutherland – 212, Bob Stilson – 202, Carl Cleveland -157

The BRP Dart Challenge is a cooperative effort between John Charlesworth of Little Valley Speedway and Dean Hoag of Black Rock Speedway. The Challenge offers a $6500 point fund through the cooperation of Dart Machinery of Troy, Michigan.  Dart designs and manufacturers high performance engine blocks, cylinder heads, and intake manifolds for oval track, drag race, street, and marine applications.  Dart information @ DartHeads.com

The BRP Dart Challenge Championship and the Little Valley Speedway E-Mod Championship will provide support events for the first ever appearance of the World of Outlaws Late Model Series at the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds race track in downtown Little Valley, NY

Little Valley Speedway gates will open at 1:00 on Wednesday August 29 for what promises to be the biggest event ever at the track which first opened to race cars in 1932.  Cars will go on the track for hot laps prior to time trials at 6:30. Additional information @ LittleValleySpeedway.com

Regardless of where you finish John, you have had a dream season so far, let alone an amazing run at the Dart Championship! Pretty sure we will all get to see you claim it! If not, it will be fun to watch the out laws run!!! You know that is the only reason I am going in the first place!  ;)
