Powerful piece, there!!

Makes you wonder how many "life sentences" our parents would have been convicted for, given the "freedoms" they allowed us, when we were young children. OMG, my father knew I loved cars, and in the big parking lot around the office he worked at, he would let me sit in his lap and steer the family car around the lot, while he worked the gas and brake pedals.......Later on, when I was 6-7 years of age, he bought me a go-kart, and I rode it around the same parking lot.....and GASP, when I was 10 years old, he bought a '62 Corvair Monza, with a 4 speed manual tranny. By then, I could easily reach the pedals myself, so one day, in the parking lot, he asked me if I thought I could drive the "stick". I said, "Sure, and so I did...............

How did we possibly survive this blatant disregard for safety, sanity, and the American way???

Furthermore, when I was in grade school, unless you lived 1.5 miles from the school, or more, you had to WALK back and forth to school!!!

Can you believe this travesty of common sense.....students walking to school??

I'm sure my dad would have gotten thrown in jail for leaving 4 year old me and the keys alone in the truck for a few minutes. (I started it up and started down the road standing on the transmission tunnel and pressing the gas with my left foot).

This crap all started with forcing kids to wear bike helmets and just took off from there. I have never worn a helmet on a bike in my life. I just learned how to take a fall. lol That was particularly helpful since one of my childhood heroes was Evel Knievel. Most of my ramps weren't quite as sturdy as the one in the picture below either.
