Flex plate clanging

Just changed out starter on my 383 stroker all clearance are good with pinion and flex plate however when I start the engine I'm getting an awful clanging sound coming from bell housing wondering if this could be a cracked flex plate

could be cracked, bent, or simply to long of a bolt going thru something somewhere. should be easy to diagnose with a good visual check over. did the bolts all get tightened the first time it was assembled?
