Racing Discussion / Re: 2014 Dave London Memorial Race
« on: August 20, 2014, 11:15:30 PM »
Belated but wanted to personally thank everyone involved with this great race. And specifically I want to thank Wolf Motorsports, Jessica Zemkin Racing, partner in crime Ide Motorsports, Dan "Where's the Squat Rack" Scott, Bellwood Farms and MPL Racing for their lap sponsorships.

I have contact info for everyone but MPL Racing, could someone shoot me a note at tfecteau@evmotorsports.net, thanks

Congrats Haters you win - we lose.

There are several asphalt races that do a "lucky 10" or 12 or whatever #style. The payout positions are determined at random before the race for each lap. That way the leader as well as 10th place have a chance at some extra dough. Racers have repeatedly said thanks for that. Also, donors wishes come first as well ex: I like donating to something meaningful to me like a specific position on a certain lap, farthest traveler, tow money for non-qualifiers, as well as giving to the general pot

Great old school guy who stayed with the sport through all it's changes. I am going to miss that man.

Can't do Thursday, that's Thompson conflict (when I'm in the Boston area)

Gail has been key to our team's improvement over the years. We wish him well and send prayers his way.

As a car owner, winding up a motor at a short track isn't anywhere near as risky as winding up a motor at a fast track. ROC has gear rules at Spencer and Lancaster, I would be more inclined to run SL2 if they had one. Risking $25-$35K motors for a couple grand against $35-50K motors is a poor risk/reward ratio. A gear rule makes sense for us non-NASCAR tour folks.

Better race than last year, Bowman Grey style racing required considering track, beef up the front bumpers and do it again.

I was there for the 2 opener specials in late 2000 and we pitted outside with a sportmod. No flats but tires brought back lots of stones. Also there sometimes was a delay in the program because of the long tow back for the wreckers (I gave them a bit of a workout at both events).

If I had a legends or 4 cyl or superstock I would want to be outside the pits so I could enjoy the show and facilities as well as race. The top classes look cool to the fans parked in pit stalls. Just one racer, car owner, fan's thoughts.

They were built to maximize front and rears roll centers and camber changes at a 4"ride height. Not appropriate to mix with stock chassis.

Thunderfied it takes 7-8 tires to run the 200 now and we go to compete for the win or we wouldn't even bother going. The purse had not changed in years so the additional $ was appreciated. I hope it gets spread around the back but we will be there regardless.

I think it's exciting news. We participated in the Albany-Saratoga 1st try (came home with a broken car and driver). Now a chance to race where Jean Guy Chartrand was a track champion, priceless.
