We get a 50lb weight brake at CMP. That is nothing. You cant give away steel wheels. I am trying to figure out how to come up with the $ for the 2016 season. We all know about rotating mass. If i am 10lbs heavier on each wheel that is a 400lb gorilla in my car. I think if you want to be competitive you have to run aluminum. Any thoughts ?

From what I understand CMP adopted the street stock rules from Black Rock and the other full fender class is super stock/ run what you brung. Can last years pure stocks run with BRS street stocks and be competitive. I watched the street stocks this year at Black Rock and those cars are fast. Is a pure stock obsolete?

I was watching the episode for the umpteenth time where Evraham buys an old original Evans Pinto that Richie built and drove from Jimmy Spencer and he restores it. Then he builds a replica Cook coup and takes the two to Martinsville and runs them. Jerry Cook himself turns laps in the #38. When they were showing the build of the # 38 there was a coup body on the car with the Lou Lazzaro paint scheam, Maroon with white stripe, but the #4 was painted over with a rattle can #38. I also seem to recall another episode where I saw The Lazzaro body up on a shelf. Does any one have any info on where that body came from? I remember a body that looked just like it on a vintage car when I ran with the Midstate vintage club.     Doug Rohr

I asked this question previously and was referred to face book. I'm not on book face. Does any one have his number. I see him in the infield taking pics but there is no photo booth at the track. Thanks, Doug

Racing Discussion / I had to Run A Consi at CMP
« on: August 23, 2015, 09:53:09 PM »
28 sportsman cars last night at CMP. I had a great time and I did not even make the feature. There is so much talent in that class. They went green to checkers with no caution. Kevin Ridley put on a Clinic last night on how to drive smooth and carry momentum around that track. I know because I watched it from the stands. I started 8th in the consi and finished 7th. They took six.  The track was perfect, smooth and fast.

Racing Discussion / Cheated up 602 Crate Motors
« on: July 23, 2015, 07:46:08 AM »
It blows my mind. There is another 602 crate motor for sale stating it was built by a reputable engine builder with fake seals. States it comes with a build sheet and turns 7000 rpm and 405 HP. WTF! This is the second crate motor for sale in the past few weeks that has been cheated up by reputible engine builders.  I was racing in the crate class Saturday night and i had a 602 go by me in the pits and i thought to my self, "That motor sure sounds different". It sounded like it had alot more HP than mine. ???????????????????

It was great to see Darryl win his heat race and back it up with a 3rd in the sportsman feature. I really enjoyed watching Nate Peckham and Darryl fight for the position every single Lap. They raced each other clean and both were smooth. That field is stacked with talent. Great Job !!!

The Tech Barn / Question about Dirt Mod wheels and Offsets
« on: May 23, 2015, 06:35:48 PM »
I know the LF is a 10" wheel and the standard wheel for the rest of the corners is 13". What is a 14" wheel for? is it a RR to Reduce Stagger. Also, is a 12" wheel for the RF. As far as wheel offsets. I think you move the right side wheels in with a 5" offset when the track is slick and move the wheel out when it is heavy. I don't have a clue as to what offsets to run on the left side of the car and why. Any help would be great. I'm running a Dirt sportsman with Mod tires and wheels. Thanks Doug

Racing Discussion / Great Show at Canandaigua last night !
« on: May 17, 2015, 08:28:24 PM »
I have to say my family had a great time last night. My wife and I, and my three kids (one is 18) went to the race and it was a great deal at $36 dollars for 3 adults. My two other boys are 16 and 14 and they got in free. The racing was epic! The track as always was smooth and fast. They ran the show along smoothly and I walked out the gate at 10 PM.
The bathrooms were clean and the whole place looked great. Jerramie C. is doing a great job!!
