Checks can be sent to Jim Schaefer at 545 Sweezy Ave. Riverhead, NY 11901

And I will definitely be at Mahoning this season, probably every 100 lap race

It's a pay pal site at facebook.   We already have 10,000 raised. The big goal is to raise 5000 more, so we can do the 10,000 to win instead of 5000 to win.

And best part, it doesn't take much to get involved.  A simple ten dollar donation by evermore who loves a modified will put this thing over the top!  Encourage anyone to donate .  It would be much appreciated!

Saturday, July 30

As far as I know, the race will pay 2600 to win.  But hopefully, the fans of the modifiers will be adding approximate 15,000 dollars to the purse. We already have 10,000 and looking to get another 5000 and the we can officially announce the winner of the race will get 10,000 first place money.

In addition to this, every driver who qualifies will take home an extra $300.

To reach our goal, we need help and we are gladly taking donations from any modified fan who can help. A PayPal link has been set up.  If any one wants to get real crazy, a $300 donation can go directly to the driver of your choice. Just let us know who.

Mahoning hasnt released its schedule, but they usually try not to conflict with the tours.  I think Matt still has plans to do that in the Bob Horn car he raced there last year.

There arent' too many guys who come from the MRS or Riverhead, but both of them have a big race on the 23rd, so you definitely won't get any of them.  But you might get the Whelen guys, because they don't run that night.

I love the Richie Evans tribute idea!

If true, would they run Saturday night, Sunday afternoon, or Sunday evening?

After last year, i vowed never to go back.... But, a race in July, might be real nice!  July 2, 9 and 23 weekends would be the choices.  Loudon is weekend of the 16th and Riverhead is the 30th, so hopefully not up against them.  I kinda like the weekend of the 9th the best.  Not even the MRS has a race Saturday or Sunday of that weekend.

But just realized that Oswego has an ISMA show scheduled for that weekend..

First time I came here was for a Whelen Tour race, way back in 2002 or something like that.  I thought it had the most unique 3rd/ 4th turn.  Have been back for another Whelen race a few years back on a very cold night and also some ROC shows.  Love the Sunday afternoon shows, as its usually easy to get to after a night of Saturday night action at another track. Got to stand out in victory lane with Matt Hirschman last year. And love the salty taters. Though Lancaster may have had the better race this year, I still vote Chemung as my favorite upstate NY track.

I'd love to see an ROC race at Mahoning again.  Any chance of that happening? Or what about Holland?  How come the ROC doesn't go there?

I think it's closer to a 1/4 mile than 1/3..  A little hard to pass on the outside.  Definitely short track racing.  Best part of the track is the first/second turn.  No wall... just go up and out of the track into the grass beyond.  As a matter of fact, for those who want to live dangerously... park your car in the parking lot near the first turn, adjacent to the track and walk through the grass behind your vehicle.. You can walk right up to and onto the track..Don't think there's any barrier to stop you.. You can save admission this way, but might be carted off to jail if you do it, or get to see a modifed up real close!

Anyone hear any rumors about the 2011 ROC schedule?  When will it be announced?  What tracks look to be on the schedule?  How many races this coming year?
