breathtaking is the news that the 60 year relationship between NASCAR and Stafford Motor Speedway has come to an abrupt end. SMS will NOT carry the banner in 2021 for the weekly series in a dispute over (are you ready for it) MONEY.. This leave the state of CT without a single NASCAR track since ???? dirt was new.  Many many racers and fans have been complaining about Mother NAS losing touch with the sports grassroots. Having one of the corner stones in the East now outside and going there own way speaks volumes..  :-\

I shouldn't do this (but I will anyway). If anybody knows the whereabouts of my old dear friend Hoosier Daddy could you have him check in please. I'm worried about his well being.  8)

What ever happened to Empire Speedway in Brewerton?  That was a speedway bike track.

Racing Discussion / TTOM@ Stafford
« on: October 22, 2020, 09:20:00 AM »
In a year full of surprise (few if any good ones)  is the entry list for this Saturdays TTOM finalle at Stafford.  53 entries and while I've never seen a TT race that had more show that pre registered it will surely be an actual count well into the 40's.  My month ago prediction of 35 is blown out of the water. This will be a big one for sure (billed as the biggest Mod race of the year in some places)  and I think it will be.  Last chance to catch some great racing as the format calls for only 26 starters so do the math. EVERYBODY has to race to get in the show and there will be no easy path to make it.  I am SO looking forward to event.

Come on out...if you've never been  to Stafford now is the time.

I'm sure one of those TIGOR switches would have worked. They are simple, effective and the designer knows his stuff.  No reason anyone should race without one.

If at least one race track is somehow or other able to find some "loophole" to operate, then why make an issue of it,

loophole in quotes?  So that doesn't bother you? ( oh you say it does but nothing we can do
so just go away Utica).  You actually think Bethel is running without Albany knowing it?

That's choice.  King Andy is the supreme micromanager and if you think something shady isn't going on you are a fool. Bethel is "getting away" with operating..LOL..

Triggered or righteous indignation?  Seems you don't know the difference.

Therefore, what good does it do, for the sport as a whole, to agitate the state government, by saying, "Well you let Bethel Speedway operate, so why can't the rest of the tracks"??

It's this kind of attitude that frost my a$$ here. This transcends racing what is going on in our society today.  Racing is on pretty shaky ground if it all hinges on the whims of  one elected official  who occupies the mansion in Albany . He serves US. ( or is supposed to) . The real issue is our elected (so called) representatives are not serving our general interest. Why and how come the rules are being selectively enforced?  So Tony is the bad guy because he simply wants an answer to a embarrassing question?   Who would put up with that in the tech barn? A level playing field is all  people want ....it's always been the way. Sure Foot...just shut up...pay your taxes....don't question anything...we (the government) have your back.

F THAT!!!

Enjoy your boxcar ride ..........f,n fools

More gimmicks...won't help their $heet show.  Cup on dirt will draw interest though.  Same as plane crashes and train wrecks do.

a renaissance ??

A there was one outside invader there and the 07 and the Cats are not chasing NASCAR points in  this crazy year so I don't think renaissance is underway. There were 30 cars and not all were full blown Mods. But..it was a great weekend and the car counts in the lessor divisions reflects the itch many had to get some racing in before the flakes fly. Until C-19 is in the rear view mirror I'd not want to wager a guess on the future. If the wrong person/party takes power in Nov racing as we know it may no longer exist.

Consider Matt has a zillion laps there and has won near 10 times on that track. First time for Baldwin/ McKennedy there.  BIG DIFFERANCE.  A very competitive field also made it tough.
When we go to Stafford in Oct maybe we'll be the chaser.  Laps on a track are so valuable.

Being part of a crew that has won that event for 6 straight years is also something that doesn't happen very often. And..it doesn't get old.

From the stands, it looks like that jack gets a little bit heavier each year!!  Congrats to you and the entire team that overcame significant adversity to win once again.

Was that observation made before they turned the lights on?  LOL ( which took them too long to do). That was a Cup style 2 pump Brunnholzl which handles different that our usual one. Yes I'm getting older but not at the races.

The wildest last 5 laps of any race I've seen at Lancaster.

Great job by the Lewis gang to repair a wrecked car from the heat and after starting 24th

get to third to be in position to take advantage of Scott Wylie taking Andy J out for a picinic lunch in turn 2 after that late restart. A great 3 way battle ensued had Daryl Lewis with Andy J glued to his right side drag race off 4 coming to the flag. It was the 10 by a Hoosier over the 57x.  What a show!!
