Racing Discussion / Lancaster 2015
« on: June 07, 2015, 09:58:37 PM »
I personally took my first trip to Lancaster Speedway last night for this racing season. (I had been previously but first trip of 2015).
First thing you notice is a brand new brightly colored sign out by Gunnville Rd. As you pull into the track you notice everything brighter with fresh coats of paint and brand new boards on the grandstands. The bathrooms were very clean, food was tasty, and the officials were MORE than friendly and accommodating. The show was organized and officials were visible everywhere to answer any questions/issues a newby (me) would have.
As for the racing surface....UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Smooth as glass, the only way it can be explained is for you to see it for yourself. I could not believe the amount of improvements made since September.
Rather than add to the regular trend of negativity on raceny I would like to reach out and let the people responsible for these improvements know that it has not gone unnoticed. THANK YOU and keep up the good work.

Thank you

Shangri-La 2 website says Sport Modified - $1,000.00 To Win (Based on minimum car counts)

Did not see purse on Lancaster's website

This was just a quick look but hopefully this helps. (Facts only)

Adirondack's schedule is posted on their website.

http://adirondackspeedway.com/post/_docs/SCHEDULE.pdf

No mention of Sport Mods or a 4 cyl invitational anywhere on the schedule. July 4th states "4th of July Bash with NY Super Stocks"

Doesn't appear to me that AIS is on the same page? If they are on the same page wouldn't they mention an invitational/Special show on their website to encourage fan attendance/car count?

Just some helpful advice

Mike

Few reasons for the 7.25 clutch rule

- when was the last time a track pulled and check the weight?
----Big 10 pulled Trans and measured them at chemung last year. They also checked them through clutch fork hole multiple times throughout season.
- there are still lot of automatic cars, cheaper to buy a new or used 7.25 then the 10.5 set up
-----the automatic guys are going to continue to run automatics
- there are high dollar 10.5" setups
-------if your worried about that, that's what the min weight rule is for. Let them spend it!
- sst ran into the same problem 10+ years ago
-----sst is not comparable to a super stock
- you dont have to buy this
----you will be at a disadvantage and no one goes to the track to get beat
- they are safer
-----how many clutches have you seen blow apart in the last 3 years?

Not bashing. Just giving our reason.
-----just my responses. I'm trying to help here. If it's working just clean it up don't rebuild it!

"7.25" clutch allowed"

So everyone that complains about keeping costs down is going to go out and buy a lightweight clutch now?

A legal Chemung, Shangri-La2, Big 10, and AIS car cannot run a 7.25" clutch in their weekly competition per their rules therefore if they come race with the NYSS they are automatically at a disadvantage unless they switch their clutch everytime?

Go ahead and bash me everyone but please take note that day in and day out everyone on here preaches and begs for a UNIFORM set of rules. Adding a lightweight clutch allowance only alienates this series from the local tracks running under weekly rules. Was the 30lb minimum clutch weight rule a problem? There may be a reason for this i am not aware of but if the goal is to build the car count i'm betting this will not help.

This is just my opinion, but believe it or not I'm just trying to help.

Bash away

Mike
