gear question
« on: April 10, 2013, 01:28:57 PM »
Ok here a question open for debate. If you have a light weight spool do you have to put light weight gears on it? I was told i had to have light weight gears on it. Im just wondering if there is any truth in that? I understand it defeats the purpose of having a light weight spool if not matched with light gears but just wonderinng. Thanks

Absolutely not true.

You can run light gears with a heavy spool or heavy gears with a light spool it does not matter.

The madman is correct!  If you were allowed to run both I don't see why you wouldn't but most "lightened" parts are done so in a way that the structural properties of the part are not sacrificed.
