I have an 02 Dirtworks IMCA Modified 4 link which was updated in 2010. I'm looking for a base setup for I-88 in Afton N.Y. Any help would be great. I'm new to this class. This is what I have as of right now, springs LF ?, RF 650, LR 200, RR 175, shocks LF Afco 1279-1, RF QA1 21A73-5, LR QA1 21A96-2, RR QA1 21A94-5M.
If I can find them I have the setup sheets for a dirtworks chassis. I will look tomorrow but am not positive I still have them.
A 9-1 on the LF sounds a little weird but other than that (as long as the LF spring is somewhere around 6-700#) you shouldnt be too far off to get started. More important to scale it and have those #'s correct
I went to Dirtworks webpage and get their base set-up and I spent all day the last two days putting their set-up in. So this is what I have in the car right know, Springs LF 650 RF 700 LR 200 RR 175, Ride heights LF 5 RF 5 1/4 LR 6 1/4 RR 6 1/4, Tire Size LF 81 5/8 RF 83 1/2 LR 82 RR 83 1/2, Tire Pressure LF 8 RF 14 LR 10 RR 12, and the Shocks are still the same.
This is a Chevelle clip car right? If you found the correct set up spec from Dirt Works, you cant go wrong with using that as your starting point
It's a metric chassis, Yeah I'm going to try it out on the 14th. Thanks for your help.
Like Steve said take the 90-10 off the left front that is a wrap shock for the top of the rear. Put an easy up like a 5-3 or a straight 3 on the left front. Spring rates you posted are for Chevelle clip. If it is a metric with Nova lowers I have always ran stiffer springs. Pierce does run springs like that on a metric, but I get good travel on RF with a 900
Yeah, KC is correct on the springs. I assumed it was Chevelle clip cause most Dirt Works cars are. Make sure the set up sheet you found is for Metric chassis
Thanks for the information, I will try and find an setup sheet for a Metric. I'll let you know how I make out.
Look up Hoffman race cars and call Jerry Hoffman he'll help ya! Good smart man.
I have metric clip car not dirtworks and I run 650 lf and 600rf seems to be fine I wasn't getting enough roll with heavier spring on right front
