Racing Discussion / Re: old Woodhull pictures?

I will check my old photos...  I have a bunch from the late 80's to mid 90's...  I raced with The Bumans at the beginning of my career...  They owned a salvage yard, if my memory serves me correct???

Racing Discussion / Re: Saturday Night racing at Chemung?
« on: 03 Jan, 2015 09:57 »
We loved racing at Chemung on Friday nights.  It was close to home and I was usually in bed by midnight.  Then we had the rest of the weekend to do whatever...  We kinda knew that the Crate class wasn't gonna be on the card for 2015, so were were in the process of building a Super Stock to run there.  Not now, I guess...

Sounds like a winning package!

Street Stocks tours have been tried in the past and have unltimately failed...  It is still my belief that in general, this is not a travelling class.  Most of your Street Stock competitors can only afford to run at whatever track is closest to home.  Without a substantial pay structure, regardless of the rules package, I think any more attempts will fail as well...

It was a great race to watch!  Congratulations to Kurt Stebbins for hanging on for the win.  We were sitting with Kane in the stands and he was so pumped to see you running up front!  Thanks to the Turn 5 crew for all the hard work to get all the laps sponsored.  I like the way you distributed the money.  We sponsored 3 laps and the envelopes all went to different drivers.  Can't wait for next year!

I think that a race track has an obligation to pay their competitors either that night or by check in the ensuing week.  The "we will have your money at the gate for you next week" policy seems like a scam to get you to come back the next week, in my opionion.  That being said, Adam followed every procedure to the letter, was cordial and patient beyond the point of reason.  The point of bringing it to light on social media is his right and his way of warning others that it may happen to them.  Let's toss this out there-  What if Adam said to the pit gate ticket taker, "I don't have your entry fee this week, but I will pay it to you next week with this week's winnings."  Would that be an acceptable plan to the promoter???  Same concept if you ask me, just reversing the roles...  How many tracks would go for that???

Sad, sad news...  It has been an honor and a privilege to write for the Gater and I have been able to meet so many wonderful people in the sport because of it...  Thanks to the Patrick family for the opportunity, it was a great experience...

If the Gen1 seals are in question, why not question them during the previous off-season?  Why wait 1/3 way in to 2014?  Or, why not let it ride until the end of this season with the premise that you must either re-seal or by new over the upcoming winter?  I'm not questioning the reasoning...  I'm curious about the timing...

Cook Brothers for sure...  Get ahold of Jeredd Dennis at the Elmira store...  He's a racer and he'll hook you up...  ;)
