that no one is talking about the statement put out by Andy Harpell about Five Mile Point Speedway.
We have lost Rolling Wheels Raceway, Skyline shut down this season, Afton has had a rough go of it, now Andy says he is burned out and won't run the late season races he normally does and unless someone steps up, 2019 won't happen in Kirkwood.
I admit FMP is not my favorite place as a fan, but I guess I should overlook the amenities and focus on the important things. The racing was GOOD all season. Car count was GOOD all season. Fan base was reported as GOOD all season. I would hate to not have it as an option.
I'll double that shock by telling everyone Brett Deyo was just announced as the new promoter at Fonda Speedway in conjunction with Jamie and Denise Page. Wait for that to sink in....
Triple Shock.....Frank Payne is the new Promoter at Thunder Mountain.
I thought deyo was going to run dirt.
Dean Reynolds from the Empire Super Sprints is the new DIRTcar Northeast head ninja in charge. Deyo has a golden egg with the STSS.
I heard they were going to try and open Skyline for at least the Turbo Blue this season. I hope the best for them, Charlie. It's a darned thankless undertaking for sure.
The Payne's own the facility. It was also mentioned to me that Frank and his wife said they would run at least the Turbo Blue weekend while still actively seeking a true promoter.

Sunny he said Frank Payne to promote Thunder Mountain not Skyline, most are aware the Payne's own Skyline.
Holy.... I guess I should get my glasses fixed, then. I sure did miss that! O.o
The Paynes were hoping to get off the ground before the end of the season but I think there was too much work to be done...I"m expecting them to hit the ground running in 2019 while they look for someone to lease/buy the facility.
It is further East but also on Tuesday Robbie Knowles was announced as the new Promoter at Airborne Park Speedway and even farther East Legion Speedway in Wentworth, NH was sold to a gentleman by the name of Dan Bowne and he promptly renamed the track "RumTown Speedway"

Paul, are we talking about Skyline? The comment above says Thunder Mountain. I was told Skyline when talking with some former track regulars from Skyline.
The post of Frank Payne promoting Thunder Mountain was just rumor started by Diane Feinstein. Sorry for the confusion.
We need an FBI investigation. Stat!
