One word describes my first trip to Seekonk...... AWESOME !!!  Great racing and the energy of the whole scene was really fun to be a part of.  To those who made this event happen , I say thank you for your efforts and vision. Racing needs more people like you!

Racing Discussion / Kudos to Afton speedway
« on: 07 Jul, 2013 23:03 »
I haven't been to Afton in a few years. we raced our sprint car there last Friday. I could not believe it was the same place from what i remember. The grounds were impressive, The fans were fun to interact with. The track surface was  ok but racey. The track had a good crowd, great feel, and is a positive attribute to that area of the southern tier. Kudos to the people who have put so much work into the place. !

George suffered a heart attack last night on the way home from Mercer. It is reported that he is stable condition in University of Pittsburg medical hospital intensive care  Lets all keep this great racer and person in our thoughts and prayers.

I just received a scam email requesting money to visit a sick cousin in England . It was sent from a Tana Robinson from Ransomville Speedway.??    Does this person even exist? I have only raced twice at the speedway ever and really don't know anybody there. Obviously I have no idea how my email address was accessed. I just letting race people (and Tana ?) know its out there.   Stay warm !!

Scumbags strike again. ESS sprint car driver Matt Tanner had his entire race operation stolen in Brantford, Ontario. this is not the first time a racer had this happen in this city.
I would like to get Matts phone number. If anyone could post it, it would be appreciated.

Over  $ 24,000 at the kings royal in the 80's.  crazy !!

He did earn it. last lap Bloomquist came up two lanes to take a swipe at his left rear as they were side by side down the backstretch. the place went crazy when Dan held on to beat him into the corner and close out the win. Really great racing on Thur and Friday.

He beat Scott Bloomquist in a thrilling finish driving the Super Duece 2. Chalk one up for one of the local good guys out there !!!

Wish it was jammed under the car but it was not. George saw it leave the car 3/4 the way down the backstretch. The mystery continues!

George Suprick crashed while leading the sprint feature Friday night.  A broken right front spindle allowed the wheel assembly fly off the car and caused the crash. The Suprick team has been unable to locate the hub, wheel and tire. if anyone finds  this, it would be greatly appreciated to let the speedway or the team know.  They may have even landed in the creek and be halfway to  Senaca Lake ??   Finding these parts will make a tough night seem a little better
Thank you for any help with this.
