Another from the 72 Fair Race. Actually these may be from the actual Schaefer race as I don't see fairground stuff outside the track.

I wish I had a color shot of the Javlin. Jack was a good friend of my Dad and one of his inspirations to build a Late Model. Jack never really ran well in the Javlin. Certainly not as dominate as the '57 chevy Late Model. Lynchmob has a color shot of his Late Model from Rolling Wheels, 1971. I guess I could link it. http://www.kluthmotorsports.com/photo%20website/rolling_wheels_71_photos/img7ful.gif

The 77 car almost ended up in our lap two days after this picture was shot. (B&B) I wish someone had the shot from Gater News. I used to have it. It was front page.

Does anyone happen to have pictures they would be willing to post of the car driven by Rusty Smith from Oxford Ny. The particular modified was I believe a Rabbit Bodied modified. Like the one Dick Clark had driven .  I think the number of the Smith car was either 134 or 34. I am not sure.  If I recall the smith car was a fine looking modified.  Any pic's would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I recall him having a sport mod (metric chassis) with a Rabbit looking body on it; I have a pic of that somewhere in my pile of photos.  I'll post it when I get a chance to dig it out.

I'll give you the #77, Walt Ellison. That pic was the first time out with the car. It was demolished at Weedsport that Sunday and I never remember seeing it again.

The #6....The car was owned by Jeff Heffer. The driver goes back to the early days of Weedsport. Think small. I believe he had to give up his job as assistant starter to drive the car.

The #96....The car was pink.

You'd be refering to "Wee" Willie Allen... pretty good shoe in his day, even though I only caught the tail end of his career.

Yes sir!!! I only caught the end of his career too. I remember his last A5, the old Bushy mod. He did run late models until '80 or '81. I also believe he drove the pace car for a while.

The #96 was "Daisy" Dick Wall. The car was pink with daisy's painted on the roof.

All I can say is, WOW! The #6 Late Model above... I sat here wracking my brain out, trying to remember who drove it. Funny part is, I remembered the car but couldn't think of the drivers name for nothing. And when Jerry spit out Willie Allen, I wanted to slap myself. I should have known that. Must have been a marijuana moment... :)
If they can have artists, pianists, florists, dentists and bicyclists... then I must be a racist.

Bob, I had the same issue on the #6. I remembered the car but couldn't figure the driver. I never really smoked only a few times and I still don't remember Wee Willie driving it! I think it's just alzheimers sneaking up! I remember a show at Weedsport where they had the cars on the front straight with the drivers out of the cars for introductions. They had Wee Willie stand on the right rear tire of his car and Pete Cordes stand next to him on the track surface and Pete was still taller than Mr Allen! I remember him becoming the pace car driver.....man we damn near ran him over on the starts A FEW TIMES AS THEY HAD THE PACE CAR DIVE OUT OF THE WAY COMING OFF FOUR nascar STYLE BACK THEN! Here's one I took on the back straight at Syracuse of Dick Tobias and Tighe Scott. I think it's from 1976 or 1977.
