Racing Discussion / Dirt Stock Car Race Body
« on: January 16, 2014, 01:31:04 PM »
Hi, my name is Chris Shultis. I'm trying to put together a new Race Sanction Body, called Dirt Stock Cars Association (DSCA). Which would put together the of DirtCar and IMCA under one roof and to put affordability back in racing. To make it cheaper for the drivers and car owners. I'm a racer myself, but with a limited budget. I know that some of the class are getting out of hand, which leaves a racer in my shoes with little or no options. With this new sanction body, we will be able to control this. With weekly tech. inspections at the tracks (it shouldn't always be up to the tracks to do this, they have enough to do). I will hire people to do tech. inspections and myself (I'm looking for a couple of people for Tech. Inspection and a couple of engine builders to help with tech). I will work closely with all sponsors, track promoters, track officials, and drivers. I'm reaching out to you to see if you would like to come onboard and help me out to get this off the ground and any help would be great.

Their would be 7 classes to start out with, and they are pure stocks, stock cars, street stocks, SpotMods (IMCA type modifieds), rookie sportsman, sportsman, and modified. I'm also working on 4 cylinder spot compact class.

The Pure Stock class is a stock car with no aftermarket race parts. The engine will be stock with stock air cleaner, with a MAX bore of 30 over. The Bodies are OEM only, Wheels are aftermarket race wheels or stock with need to be reinforced, 15x7 or 15x8, no beadlocks. Tire will be American Racer G60 or Hoosier G60 tires, so they can buy used tires from the stock car, street stock, or IMCA modified drivers. Exhaust is single or dual with 2 1/2" exhaust tubing MAX, with mufflers, stock exhaust manifolds. Suspension is everything stock in stock location, may use aftermarket shocks and springs. Rear ends must be any steel approved OEM passenger car. All must have tow hooks or chains on front and rear of car.

The Stock Car class is the same as the Pure Stocks but with these changes, MAX bore of 60 over, may use aftermarket air cleaner, street style headers only, the use of spring cups for adjustment, Holley 4412 carb with 1" spacer, aftermarket valve covers with breathers, front upper control arms but must meet stock dimensions, may run beadlock wheel on right rear only.

The Street Stock class (the new pro stock class) is the same as Stock Car, but with these changes, stock OEM or aftermarket bodies that must look like OEM body, former pro/super stocks cars are eligible if they meet these rules and any over-competitive cars may have weight added, may use a 5" spoiler, non stock or aftermarket ball joints, tie rod adjusters, adjusting sleeve (MAX 4 1/2" length), Ford 9" floater ( must be steel),15x8 wheels only with beadlocks on rightside only, some engine mods, create motor 602 only, and more.

SportMods rules will be the same as the IMCA rules, but you may run the EMod engine. So the emods can run with the Modifieds as one class.

The Rookie Sportsman Class, 2009 and older chassis, any body style ( just as long as it looks like a sportsman, create motor 602 and open motor 30 over MAX bore aftermarket intake and carb. But engine must be stock with some changes, steel or aluminum wheels, American racer tires same as Modified and Sportsman ( driver can buy tires and old parts from modified or sportsman driver to save money). If you win three races, the next year up must move up to Sportsman Class or the next race taking any half of your points with you or you race for five years in this class you must move up to Sportsman Class, and if you need to with DSCA and the Track Promoters saying o.k, you can go back to this class after one year in the Sportsman Class.

The Sportsman Class and Modified Class.

These are some of the rules. Trying to set it up so that the can start in the pure stock class and work their way up throw the classes as cheap as possible. I'm working on a point system, general rules, protesting, illegal parts, and claiming rules. I am working on sponsorship and tracks also. We are starting out on the local level, but with enough help we can make it on the regional and national levels in a few years. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me at Email cshultisdsca@yahoo.com or phone 1-607-326-6076 If you get answering machine please leave a message, I will get back with you ASAP. I'm hoping to start everything for the 2015 racing season. I do have a website which is http://shultisracing22.wix.com/dsca1.

Racing Discussion / new Racing Samction Body
« on: December 12, 2013, 08:07:55 AM »
I was wondering if there is enough backing to do this. I'm a racer myself, with a very small budget. All the classes are getting way out of hand with the cost to be competitive. With this Race Sanction Body, we will set the rules to be racer friendly and keep the cost down. We will setup our own tech. inspection, so the track promoters and officials can worry about the nights racing, not checking cars ( they may have to do one ones in awhile). Keep everyone on the same rules, so a racer can race Friday and then at a different track Saturday with no changes to the car ( saves money and time ). The classes would be 4 cyl. trucks, 4 cyl. cars, stock cars, pro stocks, rookies sportsman, sportsman, sport modified ( IMCA type modified), modified, and sprintcars ( SRP type) to start out with. Thinking about v8 trucks and late models. Everything is in the thought process. Just want everyone's thoughts and input. I will need allot of backing before this can happen. I'm trying to get some sponsorship, which is hard at this point. I will work closely with all track promoters, track officials, sponsors, and drivers. I will need some tracks to come on broad to keep things going. Any help would be great. I'm still working on the rules. If you would like to see the rules you can email me at shultisracing22@yahoo.com and I will send them to you when they are done or I can put them on here. The name of the Race Sanction Body is up in the air right now. The only one that I came up with is Dirt Stock Car Association (DSCA). Anyone that would like to help, you can email me and we can work together and make this sanctioning Body the best. Thanks

« on: May 12, 2010, 08:24:28 AM »
I need help with my street stock setup. The car pushes really bad getting into the corner and then very loose off the corner. I have an 800# LF, 900 or 950 RF, 175# LR, 200# RR spring. I have about 3/4" of front stagger and about 1 1/2" of rear stagger. I have 7 5/8" LF, 8 3/8" RF, 9 3/8" LR, 10 1/2" RR ride height on 70/245r15 American racer tires. Any help would be good. This is my second year of racing. Thanks.
