Finally posted what I could for my 2018 "by the numbers" story on Facebook, thought it might be worth the read over here as well...

"While I'm awaiting additional info from Hillside personnel on their 2018 results, I have some "fascinating" statistical data from the 2018 REGULAR season for the Sunoco/Sportsman/SST Modifieds at Chemung, Lancaster, Spencer, and Wyoming County (will continue this study with end of season specials and traveling events)... I was able to break data down into certain categories, by track, driver, and then overall in the region. Here we go:

Chemung Speedrome -
- 11 events were scheduled in 2018 for the Sunoco Modifieds, but with 4 rainouts, only 7 events were run
- 16 different drivers competed throughout the 7 events
- 7 of the 16 drivers (43.8%) competed in all 7 events
- 13 of the 16 drivers (81.3%) competed in 50% or more of the 7 events
- Champion; Connor Sellars #00
- Wins; Connor Sellars and Tj Potrzebowski led the way with 3 wins a piece, while Charlie Sharpsteen was the sole other driver with a victory in 2018
- Top 5 Finishes; Connor Sellars was the only competitor to finish in the Top 5 in each of the 7 events, while TJ Potrzebowski, Zack Curren, and Charlie Sharpsteen were able to finish in the Top 5 in 50% or more of the 7 events
- Top 10 Finishes; Sellars and Curren were joined by Jody Buckley, Kevin Youngs, and Gene Sharpsteen for the competitors who finished in the Top 10 in each of the 7 events
- Average Finish; Connor Sellars led the way with the best average finish which was 2.7th place (7 events), 15 or the 16 drivers averaged a Top 10 or better finish for the season
- Total Cars Beat; Connor Sellars defeated 63 competitors over the course of the season, which was 84.0% of the drivers he competed against, the next best was TJ Potrzebowski at 56 cars (74.7%), and Zack Curren at 52 cars (69.3%)

Lancaster National Speedway -
- Following a slight modification to the schedule early on due to an extended winter into spring, 9 events were schedule for the VP Racing Fuels Sportsman in 2018, and all 9 were run
- 40 different drivers competed throughout the 9 events
- 5 of the 40 drivers (12.5%) competed in all 9 events
- 14 of the 40 drivers (35.0%) competed in 50% or more of the 9 events
- Champion; Owen Bednasz #2
- Wins; Patrick Emerling led the way with 3 wins, while Owen Bednasz, Shawn Nye, Jake Vernon, Tommy Catalano, George Skora III, and Chuck Hossfeld all were drivers with 1 victory a piece in 2018
- Top 5 Finishes; No drivers were able to finish in the Top 5 in all 9 events, and Owen Bednasz was the only driver to finish in the Top 5 in 50% or more of the 9 events
- Top 10 Finishes; Owen Bednasz was the only competitor to finish in the Top 10 in each of the 9 events
- Average Finish; Chuck Hossfeld led the way with the best average finish which was 1.5th place (2 events), while Owen Bednasz had an average finish which was 4.2nd place, 17 of the 40 drivers averaged a Top 10 or better finish for the season
- Total Cars Beat; Owen Bednasz defeated 118 competitors over the course of the season, which was 80.3% of the drivers he competed against, the next best was Shawn Nye at 86 cars (58.5%), and Patrick Emerling at 81 (53.6%) in only 5 events

Spencer Speedway -
- 7 events were scheduled in 2018 for the Sunoco Modifieds, and all 7 were run
- 16 different drivers competed throughout the 7 events
- 8 of the 16 drivers (50.0%) competed in all 7 events
- 11 of the 16 drivers (68.8%) competed in 50% or more of the 7 events
- Champion; Mike Leaty #1
- Wins; Tommy Catalano led the way with 3 wins, while Amy Montgomery-Catalano, Timmy Catalano, Mike Leaty, and Eddie Hawkins all were drivers with 1 victory a piece in 2018
- Top 5 Finishes; Only Mike Leaty was able to finish Top 5 in each of the 7 events, while Tommy Catalano, Daryl Lewis, Jr., Andy Lewis, and Amy Catalano were able to finish in the Top 5 in 50% or more of the 7 events
- Top 10 Finishes; Mike Leaty, Tommy Catalano, Daryl Lewis, Jr., Andy Lewis, and Amy Catalano were joined by Eddie Hawkins and Timmy Catalano for competitors who finished in the Top 10 in each of 7 events
- Average Finish; Mike Leaty led the way with the best average finish which was 2.7th place (7 events), 12 of the 16 drivers averaged a Top 10 or better finish for the season
- Total Cars Beat; Mike Leaty defeated 62 competitors over the course of the season, which was 83.8% of the drivers he competed against, the next best was Tommy Catalano at 59 cars (79.7%), and Daryl Lewis, Jr. at 57 cars (77.0%)

Wyoming County International Speedway -
- 13 events were scheduled in 2018 for the SST Modifieds, but with 4 rainouts, only 9 were run
- 38 different drivers competed throughout the 9 events
- 10 of the 38 drivers (26.3%) competed in all 9 events
- 18 of the 38 drivers (47.4%) competed in 50% or more of the 9 events
- Champion; Rick Knapp, Jr. #11
- Wins; Ricky Knapp, Jr. led the way with 3 wins, while Alan Bookmiller took home 2 wins, and Dan Majchrzak, Toad Bradshaw, Tony Hanbury, and TJ Potrzebowski all were drivers with 1 victory a piece in 2018
- Top 5 Finishes; Only Ricky Knapp, Jr. was able to finish in the Top 5 in all 9 events, while Dan Majchrzak was able to finish in the Top 5 in 50% or more of the 9 events
- Top 10 Finishes; Ricky Knapp, Jr. was joined by Cassie Logsdon for competitors who finished in the Top 10 in each of the 9 events
- Average Finish; TJ Potrzebowski led the way with the best average finish which was 1.0st place (1 event), while Ricky Knapp, Jr. had an average finish which was 1.8th place, 15 or the 37 drivers averaged a Top 10 or better finish for the season
- Total Cars Beat; Ricky Knapp, Jr. defeated 164 competitors over the course of the season, which was an astounding 95.9% of the drivers he competed against, the next best was Dan Majchrzak at 123 cars (71.9%), and Cassie Logsdon at 122 cars (71.3%)

Overall Region (Hillside Buffalo not considered) -
- 40 events were scheduled in 2018 for the Sunoco/Sportsman/SST Modifieds, but with 8 rainouts, only 32 were run
- 89 different drivers competed throughout the 32 events
- The 5 most active drivers in the region were Tommy Catalano (13 events at 3 tracks), Amy Catalano (11 events at 2 tracks), Timmy Catalano (11 events at 2 tracks), Eddie Hawkins (11 events at 2 tracks), and Steve Fuchs (10 events at 2 tracks)
- Wins; Tommy Catalano and TJ Potrzebowski each had 4 total wins, Ricky Knapp, Jr., Connor Sellars, and Patrick Emerline each had 3 total wins, Alan Bookmiller had 2 total wins, and 13 other drivers each had 1 total win (20.4% of the 93 drivers won at least 1 event)
- Top 5 Finishes; The 2018 leaders in Top 5 Finishes were Tommy Catalano (9), Ricky Knapp, Jr. (9), Mike Leaty (9), Connor Sellars (7), and Amy Catalano (7), 48 of the 93 drivers 51.6% brought home at least 1 Top 5 Finish
- Top 10 Finishes; The 2018 leaders in Top 5 Finishes were Tommy Catalano (13), Amy Catalano (11), Eddie Hawkins (11), Timmy Catalano (10), and Ricky Knapp, Jr., Mike Leaty, Owen Bednasz, and Cassie Logsdon (9)
- Average Finish; The 2018 leaders in Average Finish were Chuck Hossfeld (1.5th), Ricky Knapp, Jr. (1.8th), TJ Potrzebowski (2.4th), Tony Hanbury (2.5th), and Mike Leaty (2.6th)
- Total Cars Beat; The 2018 leaders in Total Cars Beat were Ricky Knapp, Jr. (164), Tommy Catalano (153), Dan Majchrzak (123), Cassie Logsdon (122), and Owen Bednasz (118)
- No drivers competed at all 4 tracks, 2 of the 89 drivers (2.2%) competed at 3 of the 4 tracks (Tommy Catalano and Andy Jankowiak), and 17 of the 89 drivers (19.1%) competed at 2 of the 4 tracks, the remaining 70 drivers (78.7%) were single track competitors.

Interesting stats. There are a lot of sportsman racers out there if a couple tracks can pull it together for the season.
How about adding the ROC 4 race series to the stats.

Interesting stats. There are a lot of sportsman racers out there if a couple tracks can pull it together for the season.
How about adding the ROC 4 race series to the stats.

This along with an updated version with Hillside Buffalo is in the works, most likely this weekend so stay tuned  :D
