Here's a family portrait. L to R, Brother Darrell, me and our Dad, Norm Welty. Russ Mills photo taken at Weedsport. This was our first tube frame car, the former Ron Hall, Show-Car Engineering kit car.

Does anyone remember the identity of the Late Models in the back ground? Perhaps the Updyke 151? Didn't really pay much attention to the LM's back then and still don't. Couldn't tell you the track Champs even . Probably nobody we ever heard of.

Dale,
The #151 LM was Bill Updyke. The blue #37 was Jeff Kappesser I believe.  As for the gold LM, it looks to be #48.  I have a '74 Rolling Wheels program that lists the driver of a #48 late model as a Carl Reynolds.  I'm guessing that it was probably a different Carl Reynolds than the one from Scranton who drove modifieds.

Here's a photo of the late J.D. McDuffie that I took from the pit stands ay WGI. I believe this was the weekend he lost his life. It was a tragedy but I didn't like the interloop as a solution although it did create a passing zone. Photo by Welty.

Jean Guy Chartrand's Hemi-Cuda #sixty-nine lined up for the Langhorne National Open in 1971. I shot this with a box camera that my Dad got after WWII. Does anyone know who any of the people or other cars are? I went to several Race of Champions at Langhorne, Trenton and Pocono and took pictures. If I can find it I shot some 8MM Movies at Trenton and caught Ben Stevens going "Out of the Park" !

Langhorne 1971: That's Gordy Treichler's #55 (Eddie Anchor started the season in the car) next to Guy's #69 with Roger Burdick's #54 directly in front of the #69. Behind the #55 was the Turner Brothers #18 with Lee Osborne driving that year at the final Langhorne event.
