Full field at Martinsville for the France Cup race today so I'm glued to the TV to watch and cheer on my favorite driver.

I only watch races with a full field.

Predicting that this will be Danica's day and her first win.

Too bad that NASCAR/Fox has once again, chosen to put one of the best races of the season, on a "premium" channel (FS1), that many of us don't have. Just another step by the France family that alienates the fans.......especially those of us who were fans for the last 40-50 years!

Not watching a NASCAR race entertainment presentation is  a bad thing?  Who knew.

Can't ...I'm out to shovel snow in the driveway.

You're missing a great motorcar race, Utica!

Harvick just had a bad pit stop and called his crew a bunch of pukes!  It doesn't get better than this!

Danica is methodically working her way through the field!  Almost a lap down in 16th and ready to make her move.

Speaking of boring NASCAR races entertainment presentations seems the vaulted WMT (south) had < than a full field at Concord Saturday.

17 ( with 2 northern invaders)  and the first ever PASS Modified event at Hickory had how many?

( responders from Mattydale get first crack at the correct answer)   ;D ;D ;D

I agree with you Leadfoot. How can you keep people interested in your product when you keep switching networks. Stupid!

Technically, it wasn't a FULL field, they even had it actually advertised from Martinsville as:

apr3 STP 500
It will be a half-mile of mayhem as 43 Sprint Cup cars battle in the close quarters of Martinsville Speedway. Expect a day full of excitement and action.

Sorry, There were actually ONLY 40 cars that participated, thus, not a full field.

But they advertised 43. Doesn't matter, only about 12 cars can win anyway.

How is that different from any other point in NASCAR history? There used to be about 5 teams capable of wining back in the day. People that are complaining about the "full" field of 40 cars are the same people that complained about the start and park group. The cars that are showing up are ALL running the full race now. No more 3 laps and "electrical" or "handling" issues. I'm beginning to think there are a lot of people that like to complain.

I'm beginning to think that you're beginning to see the light about many RaceNY posters.

I went down for the race weekend. I had never been to Martinsville, but had wanted to go for a while and check it off the list.

All-in-all, I had fun. The entire experience was that of a "throwback." The place was dripping with history and nostalgia, but had numerous upgrades and amenities that are commonplace at newer speedways.

It's a hell of a lot easier to drive up to Oswego for their 2 big weekends, though -- and just about as entertaining. Sort of makes you appreciate what's in your backyard.

Kenny I know about the 40 cars, the funny thing about that is, I copied (copied and paste) the bold below print directly OFF the Martinsville website...so figure...lol..

Isn't it ironic that when the field consisted of 43 cars there were exactly 43 entered and now that the field is only 40 cars there were exactly 40 cars entered? Kind of makes you wonder doesn't it?
