Racing Discussion / You run the track for a season
« on: July 14, 2012, 10:28:26 AM »
Your hired to run the track for the season .........          Last season car counts for all classes were low what and how would you work to get the car counts back up and get the fans back in the seats before the season starts .........   What kind of incentives would you give drivers to come race ???    And what would you do for the fans to get bigger crowds each week......    Plus track Sponsers and class sponsers what ideas there and what would you do for them????      Myself this is what I would try and to succeed......    First I would get word out to all and any drivers that want to race at the track that all rules would be inforced cars would be TECHed... before hitting track and top 5 from each feature would go through TECH after race....  Any Tech inspector that lets a car go knowing that there is a reason for a DQ would be FIRED on the spot...... Depending on class I would give an extra incentive to the top 2 in each feature possibolly top 3 something like FREE PASS for the following week ----- 2 NEW TIRES ---- 5 GAL. OF FUEL ...    As for the fans at least once a month fan appreciation night half price to get in.... Drawings for 2 free passes every week for the following week.... Have a Family Package 2 adult / and 2 childern passes for $25.00 Includes 4 hot dogs and 4 drinks..... And to our Men and Women that serve in the Arm Forces including the Vetrens 1 Month would be half price  for them.....   As for sponsers I would try to get sponsers for each class and ask for just so much or what would be reasonable to them ... Each week the sponsers would be treated to free passes but it would be only 1 sponser each week not all at once......        I know there's some stuff I may have missed on but this would be a start ..........        So what kinda ideas would you have to help...........

Racing Discussion / rememebering the pass
« on: July 04, 2010, 11:48:25 PM »
Growing up i remember going to the races with my dad from the late 70's till he passed in 2003 so i been going for over 30 years ... But any way i do remember on any saturday night at the old shagri-la there was 3 classes Mods - Late Models - Street Stock and each class would have 30 plus cars and you would have 20 -24 cars in each feature but that was in the late 70's early 80's .. How things have changed since that time ..Would love to see that again but we never will because of the expense and track owners and rules of all classes... One class that could be saved and this is just my opinion the street stocks.. The name of the class says it loud and clear STREET STOCK !!!!!! Throw the rule book out and go back to basics run street legal tires only allow 350 chevy's 351 fords not sure on dodges no boring of engines  no racing parts of any kind keep the car STOCK all the way .. The way i see it you do this and the expense of the class could possibly come down
