I can't remember a movie with Paul Newman that matches your description. He did the movie "Winning" which centered around racing and focused on the Indy 500.

Hey guys and gals...it's been a while. Thought I would bring this old gem of a thread back out of semi-retirement.
If you go out to YouTube you can find a lot of the movies on this list.
Recently I've watched Alabama Dirt (originally slated to be released as LA Dirt) and also Rocksteady which was filmed at Accord in the Catskills.
One to add:
Cars 3... 2017
Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen (voice of Owen Wilson) is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician, Cruz Ramirez (voice of Cristela Alonzo), with her own plan to win, plus inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Horn…

Racing Discussion / Vintage Modifieds in the Southern Tier
« on: August 09, 2017, 10:26:48 PM »
I'm putting feelers out to find out how many folks out there have a vintage stockcar. This would pertain to people in the Southern Tier of NY and the Northern Tier of PA. The reason I'm asking is to gauge if there would be enough interest to start up a new club in the area. It's been a few years since the last club took a dive. Honestly, not sure what happened to them, but it seems like there is a hole to fill.  So, in the hopes of starting a dialog, I'd also love to hear thoughts on this. If you know someone that may be interested, please share this with them. Thanks...Bob J.

Right on Herm...towards the end they said there had been 75 lead changes. I thought it was interesting how much the drivers were bitchin' about the pack racing, except for Marco Andretti, who said he liked it. Good to see no one got hurt. I was expecting a Talladaga moment.

A few more from the Bob-Cat Sporting news... (all from Dundee) 1) Tom Smalley (#00) slips by Chuck Kennison (9x) on the inside to beat him out of a late model heat win. By the way... Smalley is in a sportsman. 2) The sportsman driver of car #9 removes a fender of the 12x of Gene Hoose.  (Ken Burnside collection)

Not a lot of info for this photo. Roger Triechler with the hardware and what appears to be a nifty STP jacket heading his way. Perhaps some one out there can shed some light on the particulars of this picture. No photog info (Ken Burnside collection)
