MAJOR RACING ANNOUNCEMENT ...SBM2
« on: September 06, 2017, 06:54:00 PM »
SBM2 (Small Block Mod Mash)

Myself and Dick Stark are pleased to announce the formation of a touring series for the Small Block Modifieds.  This will be a 6 to 8 race tour at facilities throughout the region.  A rules package is currently being put together to feature the spec headed 358s, along with the W16, the Open Sportsman, and other possibilities.  It is encouraged that potential teams voice their opinions, or share your thoughts about this series, to HELP it be successful and well attended.  Keep in mind, we are not trying to be the Super DIRT Series, the Short Track Super Series, or the Race of Champions.  These races will be designed for the blue collar racers who may be budget constricted to follow a huge series, but at the same time, are interested in being a part of something just a little different.  Stay tuned for upcoming updates in regards to this, including schedule, website, Facebook, and more.

This sounds interesting as Dirtcar has all but killed the 358's, and pretty much excludes them from SDS races by making them weigh as much as the Big Blocks. Hopefully when this new series schedules it will look at places like Ransomville and Merrittville.

You know at freedom the smallbocks get a 100 pound weight break and they smoked the bigblocks in the middle of the season .

Charlie I believe the Small Blocks at Freedom are 370's that run at Woodhull and Outlaw. They are not 358's Dirt Legal.

Your already miles ahead of the ROC (Running outta cash) tour. Ssts used to be for the little guy until his club dues got to big. Dirt keeps chugging along on top and seems to keep weathering the storm. Just get ready for the classic Deyo move. The one where he will schedule or re-schedule on your dates. It will happen. Good luck and I will be in the stands watching.

We are ambassadors of the sport, and in no way do we want to conflict with other established racing series.  This series is going to attempt to provide a stage for racers that typically don't get the opportunity to race series type events because #1 they don't typically have the budget to do so, and #2 cannot compete against high dollar teams.  When we say blue collar, that is what we are looking for.  True racers that can compete with one another with a true even playing field.  This series resonates the vision of the old T-3 Series.  Great car counts, with very competitive fields.  Stay tuned for future developments.

And Fulton and U-R are going 358 for the headline division, replacing the Big Blocks, in 2018
