The point battles will all come down to the wire Friday night at Yates County Speedway in Dundee.  It is Season Championship Night and Championship points will be on the line as the 2014 Track Championships will be decided.  Race time is 7:00 p.m.
Casey Pavlick leads the way in the 602 Crate Sportsman by just four points over Brady Fultz.  Chris Fisher is third, 22 points behind Fultz and just two markers ahead of Fran Hilton.  Josh Keesey trails Hilton by just 13 points.  With Championship and the regular heat points being awarded, all five drivers are mathematically alive for a shot at the title depending on the car count although it will most likely come down to Pavlick and Fultz.  The winners of the last two features, Ross Vleck and Dale Welty are tied for sixth in the standings with Phil Yaw just two points behind them.  Chris Silvers and Loren Lincoln round out the top ten and both have a shot at breaking into the top five if the cards fall their way.  The complete breakdown of the Championship points can be found on our Facebook page.
In the Street Stock division it is Jeremy Potrzebowski on top of the standings by 18 points over Chuck Winslow, who holds a seven point advantage over Jake Karlnoski in third.  Nathan Daggett and Rich Sharpsteen round out the top five in the Street Stock points.  All five drivers are very much alive in their title hopes as the Street Stock division has averaged 23 cars per night.  A bad night by one or more of the top five, coupled with a good night by one of them could easily turn the standings upside down on the final point night.
In the IMCA Modifieds it is veteran Dick Karlnoski leading the way over young Jared Spalding by 14 points.  The IMCA division does not follow the track points.  They go by the official IMCA point system which only separates a position by one point.  Spalding will have to win and hope for more than 15 cars to show up and have Karlnoski finish worse than that to have any shot at the title.  They are followed in the standings by Todd Stone, Keith Lamphere and Brad Smith.
It the Four Cylinders Scott Bradley has all but locked up the title but second place Chris Mashewske still has a mathematical chance if Bradley has a bad night.  Chad Ayres is only five points behind Mashewske for second and is ahead of fourth place Jayson Smart by six points.  Del Cummings rounds out the top five, just five points behind Cummings.
In the 305 Sprints Darryl Ruggles holds a 41 point advantage over John Preston.  Ruggles will only need to take the green to lock up the championship.  His daughter Alysha Ruggles is currently third in the standings.
In the Late Model division Brian Knowles holds a 22 point advantage over Sparky Hills.  Jason Knowles sits third, trailing Hills by 33 points.
In the Bandits Allison Teed has gone undefeated going into the last race and holds a 48 point lead over Chris Davis.  Teed has dominated the division for young drivers just starting out in racing.  Desiree Force is 12 points behind Davis for second.
All of the speculation and calculations will be complete on Friday night and the 2014 Track Champions will be crowned in all divisions.  You won’t want to miss a minute of the action.  Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m., grandstand gates at 5:00 p.m. and race time is 7:00 p.m.  Yates County Speedway is located on Route 14A in Dundee, New York.  For further information look us up on Facebook or on our website at yatescountyspeedway.com.
