Moments In Time / Re: When the flagger was on the track
« on: April 02, 2013, 08:45:34 AM »
When i was young the flagger at Reading Fairgrounds would wave the green flag on the track and stay there while cars were going by on both sides of him... That is totally NUTS

I just wanted everyone to know who I am. Maybe the track can run 1 or two special only shows for the crates and see how that goes? The 500.00 to win for the Imcas is probably the highest pay for that class in the area and I say congrats to you guys! There was a special show at Penn Can tonight and about 30  crates showed. I was there for some great racing in all the classes. I hope that the Imca class grows!!

Nobody said to sell your car. Keep it run it and be happy. Just add the crate class to help support the other classes. The Imca class is huge away from here and that you are correct on. But you are here and not there. This is Late model and modified country on the east coast it has been since I was a kid. If you would like a crate car I have 2 of them I would sell. I would rather be 358 racing. The crate class is a great class for the new guys to start at. Woodhull allows 14 year olds to begin in this class. If you get that frustrated on here I would hate to be in a race with you. I will not hide behind my screen name
Thanks

I have to agree with JohnM17 not to get rid of anybody just to build another class to support the track and fan base.I own 2 crate cars and would bring them there to race. If you  price our tires they are a little bit more abot 150.00 each.If you wreck and take out the axels shocks and bars its around 600.00 for new stuff. The crate engine is 3300.oo brand new. My one car has a motor that is 4 years old finished 6th in points at Woodhull this year. This motor has never been rebuilt in that 4 year span. That is where the savings is. By what I was told the Track Champions motor was also 4 years old. I am not trying to start anything just trying to build the sport.

this post was started to talk about crates, No disrespect to the Imca guys but what do you get paid and how much do you spend on just your motors? The crate class has grown faster than most classes have in the last 5 years. It would be nice to have you guys jump aboard a growing class that will probably save alot of tracks in the area from closing there doors. If the track does not make it we will have no place to race. Please look at the big picture.

How much will the payout be? Blackrock gets 20 to 30 crates and Woodhull also get 24 to 30 cars. How many IMCAS does DH2 get on race night?

What a great race at the moody mile. He did a great job to save fuel. I thought maybe Phelps would win because of fuel. A really fun race to watch. Everyone was on their feet at the end.
