NASCAR: Finishing Touches Being Put on Battle at the Beach

NASCAR Battle – 10/28/13

Sunday, Autoweek published a report indicating the UNOH Battle at the Beach, an event featuring the NASCAR Whelen Modifieds, NASCAR K&N Pro Series and the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Models, will be returning to Daytona International Speedway in 2014. NASCAR Integrated Marketing Communications representative Jason Christley told Speed51.com Monday afternoon that NASCAR is still putting the finishing touches on the 2014 UNOH Battle at the Beach and there will be an announcement once the event is finalized.

That's unfortunate.  Would be better at an actual race track.  Don't get me wrong, short track racing on TV in February is awesome...but that was hardly racing.

I would rather watch New Smyrna. The track @ Daytona is the equivalent to marking an oval in a Walmart parking lot & lining it w/loader tires. Not racing in my opinion.

we watched the modified joke at charlotte a couple of weeks ago,3 rd year in a row, this time we made it to lap 19 before we left after the 4th caution, then when heading back to the camper, they red flagged the show, for a 5 car pile up, was a joke just like Daytona, agree with willie,go to new smyrna  and watch some racing.

Put them on the big track and let them go.

I can't make it to Speedweeks in feb. as I have to make sure Mom is all set at the farm. I myself am very grateful I am able to sit down in the evening and watch a Modified race on tv.

Another example of NASCAR not listening to the racer or fan.  Put these guys on a track that will showcase the division not pylon racing at the local W-Mart parking lot!!!

If they do that ridiculous race again they should make the competitors take the front bumpers off.

There you go boys, move somebody with your sway bar. ;D ;D

Hey Gomer, They used to race the big track. The Modifieds were as fast & faster than the cup cars. NASCAR said, "We can't have that." So it was scrapped. NASCAR is not going to allow their golden children, (Cup class) to be upstaged.
