BRP CanAm Tour and Challenge Combined for 2013
   …Single Program One Champion $5000 + Reward…

St. Catharines, ONT…The 2013 Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) CanAm Late Model Series tour is taking shape.  The detailed schedule will be announced within a few weeks.  A major change for 2013 is that the BRP CanAm Dart Challenge program has been integrated into the BRP CanAm Tour.

“We have had the both the tour and challenge programs for the past three years. For the 11th anniversary season, it is time to step up the program.  The step up for the race teams is that now all tour events that will pay a minimum of $1000 to win / $150 to start.  In the past, the challenge events paid a little less and the point funds were shared by the two programs.  Last year we scheduled eight tour events and six challenge events. For 2013, it will be a single sixteen (perhaps a couple more) event BRP CanAm tour.  Of course, the Series weekly events and the home track bonus program will continue. Black Rock Speedway, Little Valley Speedway, Raceway 5, and Woodhull Raceway are all part of the BRP Series weekly program,” shared Nancy Bicknell from her office at Bicknell Racing Products.

The consolidation to a single tour program changes the history of the Series.  Series statistics from this time forward will reflect consolidated data.  The 109 tour events, combined with 17 Challenge events completed 2003 - 2012, mean that the 2013 tour will begin at event # 127.

The win list grows, but the name on top is still Jeff Chesebro.  Chesebro, 2007 and 2008 Series tour champion and 2010 Dart Challenge champion, owns 13 wins to top the list of 39 drivers who have won at least one Series tour A-Main.

Second on the winners list is Jeremy Wonderling, 2011 Series tour champion, with 12 wins.  Wonderling is planning an all out assault for the 2013 championship.  Since Chesebro has no definite plans to race on a regular basis this year, Wonderling (Mr. Excitement) may end up at the top of the all - time winners list.  Chesebro has a standing offer from Dale LeBarron for a ride in one of the Troups Creek Auto Parts race cars, so perhaps his plans will change.

Bruce Miller, 2012 Series tour champion, is third on the all - time winners list with 11 victories. Included in the 11 is the 2003 win at Little Valley in the first ever BRP CanAm event.  Miller will have both his freshened 2012 championship car and the totally updated car owned and previously raced by his father Dave ready for the 2013 Series tour opener at Woodhull on April 27.

John Waters is fourth on the all - time winners list with 10 wins.  Waters, a two time Dart Challenge champion (2011 and 2012) and twice runner-up in his pursuit of a Series tour championship, is ready for 2013.  The Troups Creek Auto Parts car that Waters rode to 20 wins (3 tour, 4 challenge, and 13 weekly) has been freshened from bumper to bumper and is race ready. Now, as we all wait for the new racing season, John and his wife Melissa await the arrival of Olivia’s baby brother in early April.

The 39 names on the winners list include Jeff Chesebro - 13, Jeremy Wonderling - 12, Bruce Miller - 11, John Waters - 10, Steve Dixon - 8, Larry Knowles - 7, Darren Kish - 6, Wayne Robertson - 5.  Ed Carley, Bryce Davis, Bob Dixon, Randy Hall, Jim Johnson, Dave Miller, Jon Rivers, and Glenn Whritenour each have three Series tour wins on their resume.  Dave DuBois, Todd Hanson, Andy Miller, Doug Ricotta, Quinn Sutherland, and Dusty Waters each have two wins. Matt Cobb, Dustin Croft, Adam Depuy, Jason Dupont, Paul Grigsby, Jack Harrington, Steve Hartman, Billy Holmes, Brian Kotarski, Scooter Pangrazio, Dick Park, Todd Rice, Tim Schram, Brady Wonderling, Mikey Wonderling, and AJ Young have each scored a solo Series tour victory.
