Very odd timing. Opens a great opportunity for Daniel Suarez though. Nice kid and glad he's getting his shot.

Maybe he went for his physical for NASCAR and he has an illness? The JGR press conference is at 10am today, streamed live at NASCAR.com

carls wife [ kate } is a doctor at university of Missouri. she works with traumatic and severe brain injurys. after what happened to jr. I see the real reason for retirement.

Much more than just jr, he said he has watched several friends and peers either seriously or fatally hurt over the last few years.

Anyone but me watch the press conference? Never been a huge fan, but he is "Cousin Carl", and, well, a true nice guy when he wants to be.

Seems to me he was trying to convince all of us that he was healthy, and then joked about getting another job. I believe he is very passionate about things outside of racing, and I would see him in a public role at JGR or an announcer.
