Richard Petty win total by manufacturer.
1. 139 Plymouth
2. 37 Dodge
3. 9 Ford
4. 6 Chevrolet
5. 5 Pontiac
6. 3 Buick
7. 1 Oldsmobile
I think someone owes our trivia team an extra 20 points. That should put us in 4th.

I will forward all feedback to Michael E Monnat.  I don't know what his source was for these answers, but it sounds like he needs a different one!
Leon will be back this Monday night.

Ratzo....   read closely......   MODIFIED races.......     The answer is Bill Strosahl.  Jim won a lot of Late Model races.

I'm checking the Diff tracks.

Morgan.....

Richard Petty never WON in a Pontiac.  Olds, Dodge, Plymouth, Ford, and his controversial 200th win was in a Buick.

We need you at trivia.  Pick up the Sharpsteens on the way.   ;D

Andretti, Gurney, Montoya, and......  ?     (Hint:  His nephew's name is Mark Wulff and he rents an apartment from me in Johnson City.)

See how much fun you're missing on Monday nights?  Plus great wings, pizza, and beer.  Great pasta, too.
My bad Mr. Report.

Will read more closely next time.  Thanks!

BTW - Read closely Mr. Report.  It's Ratzso......

Your typing is excellent, Mr. Report.

Just take your own advice and "Read Closely."

Yeah, who?  And Richard Petty's 1984 Firecracker 400 win was in a Pontiac, not a Buick.

Mark Donahue won the 1972 Indy 500 and 1973 Nascar race at Riverside, BUT NEVER won in Formula 1 race.

From 1950 til 1960, the Indy 500 winner got World Championship Points, so you could technically say they won in both with just one win. Of those winners, I didn't remember any of their names as Nascar Cup winners............

Lefty, THANK YOU! Had forgotten Indy was a Formula One championship race at one time. A.J. Foyt won Indy in 1960,  and had a few NASCAR wins as well. I'm putting my money on "Super Tex"

AJ Foyt finished 25th in the 1960 Indy 500.  His first Indy 500 victory didn't come until '61.

The Indy 500 counting toward the F1 World Championship ended with the 1960 race.  That winner of the 1960 Indy 500 was Jim Rathmann.  Now, Jim's older brother Dick had 13 NASCAR WC wins between 1951-55.  In an odd bit of trivia Jim Rathmann's real name was Dick and Dick Rathmann's real name was Jim.  The brothers switched names in 1946 in an effort to get the underage Jim behind the wheel of a race car. It was supposed to be a temporary, one race deal but they wound up using each other's names for the rest of their lives.  Could be a roundabout way to being the "fourth man" to win in all three disciplines? But they were really two different men.  Jim won Indy/F1.  Dick won in NASCAR.

Interesting. Both an  ESPN article on Foyt, and Wikipedia list him as the winner in 1960, but the Indianapolis web link says it the way you have it. Guess I will have to send the money I put on him to you, Jay. lol

Racing trivia continues tonight at Brothers 2 Restaurant, 2901 Watson Boulevard in Endwell.  This week there are TWO bonus answers.......

one is "Naples Speedway"      the other is "FedEx"

Now you just need to match the answers to the questions.  Racing trivia starts at 7:30 PM.

Come early and enjoy great wings and pizza, or Monday night's special is spaghetti and meatballs for $4.95.

See you tonight!
