First of all thank you for purchasing and keeping stockcars going in the future.
But how can you run a drag show with fans but then go and cancelled the stock car show on the 9th. Would think with allowing to have fans for the drags shows you would for the stock car side of things?

So with the chance of maybe being able to get to races in August do you think it's best for this season for tracks to run special events only?

Racing Discussion / Race of Champions Suspends Partnership With Lancaster
« on: January 01, 2020, 01:40:43 PM »
Elma, NY — Since the completion of the 2019 US Open at New York International Raceway Park, home to Lancaster National Speedway, Race of Champions management has continued its attempts to resolve issues with the facility.

To date finances for purse money due to Race of Champions have still not been paid in full, to date, and caused delayed payouts to various teams that raced that weekend (September 13, 14 and 15, 2019). The continued delays by track management not meeting terms agreed upon with the Race of Champions. Due to these circumstances Race of Champions management has opted to suspend its partnership with New York International Raceway Park, home to Lancaster National Speedway until a resolution has been reached.

The Race of Champions has paid the teams in full that participated in the event utilizing monies from Race of Champions operational funds.

“There was a meeting with speedway management after the event and the season was completed to address concerns and the terms which were previously agreed upon,” stated Joe Skotnicki, Race of Champions, owner. “It got to the point where we wanted to get teams paid and had to use some of our operational funding to accomplish this. We recognized the time gap of payment was unfair to the competitors who had not received the purse money that was due to them.”

Race of Champions management is open to discussion and would consider all options regarding all racing related items once payment is reconciled and correspondence resumes.

“I would like to work things out with the speedway, however, misinformation and speculation by racers, sponsors and fans is misleading and confusing.” Skotnicki continued, “Race of Champions wants to open all lines of communication with New York Raceway International Park and to communicate to all what is truly taking place, create a resolution, and move forward.”

Race of Champions management will provide updates in regard to this situation as progress is made.

The Race of Champions is a sanctioning body presenting Modified and Stock Car racing on asphalt and dirt surfaces throughout the Northeast, with events in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey with primary marketing partners Hoosier Racing Tire, VP Racing Fuels, US Army, Upstate Automotive Group, Waddell Communications, Pilat Graphic Design, Jerico TDH Refrigeration, Sherwood Racing Wheels, PavedTrackDigest.com and Speed51.com. The 70th annual Race of Champions weekend will take place in 2020 at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pennsylvania and is the second longest consecutive auto-racing event in North America, second only to the Indianapolis 500

Report by speed 51. This doesn't look good for Lancaster

Racing Discussion / Rain Outs
« on: July 12, 2019, 10:14:30 AM »
With the area that we live in i was wondering why tracks dont have at least one rain date schedule per month. grant it this year rain has been more then normal but i believe in the past tracks had one rain date schedule towards the end of each month. Other thing i notice majority events why doesn't track schedule a backup date for rain date IE you race Friday Saturday is rain date, you race Saturday Sunday is the rain date?

Racing Discussion / WNY Asphalt Auto Racing
« on: May 15, 2019, 12:41:06 PM »
With the current state of  WNY Asphalt auto racing in this area, i was thinking about how would having ROC become the sanctioning body for this area similar to how DIRT, or NASCAR is for Asphalt. Out of all the Asphalt tracks in the area the only one that is in good shape is Wyoming county. But as a whole i think this idea would help with building back up the asphalt side. Running three or four divisions. Have all similar rules so you can go to any track in the area to race. The four division i would say run are 4 Cylinder, street stocks, super stocks, and sportsman. Keep the Midgets, tour modified and late models as touring only divisions. Can also have tour races for the local track division but used it as extra distance bigger pay events. Not sure what the logistics is to be able to have something like this done. But something needs to be done to keep asphalt racing alive in WNY

The speedway is located on property that also includes the paintball park.

Bennett Sr. declined to discuss specifics of the case. Hutchinson's attorney, David Kloss, said the court proceeding was a "matter of formalization" of the arrangement for Hutchinson to no longer be part of track management.

"Daniel has another business and Daniel is concentrating now on his core business outside of racing," Kloss said. "Ron and Daniel remain good friends."

Hutchinson has not replied to messages in the last month seeking information on his plans for the track.

What lies ahead for racing at Holland?

"I know that there's going to be a rush of people who are going to be asking if the speedway is going to open in two weeks," Bennett said. "That's not going to happen. What were looking at is the condition of the property. We have to repair and reset the property. It is not in good shape. ...

"The only thing that we would probably do is review the schedule and probably host the 12th year of running Crash-A-Rama. But right now we're not going to try to commit to anything as we try to put this place back together.

"I'm not going to try to walk back into it and race without any sponsorships, promotions or anything. These things are usually done in the offseason. Remember that the track last year was run by someone else and now it's been returned to me."

Last season, the speedway suffered its worst season with the smallest race fields and grandstand attendance in the track's long history. Many races were run with less than 100 patrons in the grandstand and 50 cars or less in the pits.

Hutchinson released a tentative 2019 schedule last fall but has provided no additional details since. Drivers' meetings have not been held in preparation for the season.

Bennett began to pursue alternative options in recent weeks, ultimately filing with the court April 19.

Holland's name change is the second for a local asphalt racing track in less than a week. Last week, the new owners of what was Lancaster National Speedway changed that track's name to New York International Raceway Park.

The owner of Lancaster Speedway says he has a verbal agreement in place to sell the Gunnville Road dual stock car/drag racing facility to an undisclosed party.

Gordon Reger said Thursday that the agreement materialized in the last day and the new owner intends for racing to continue. Lancaster has run motorsports competition almost continuously since 1959.

He declined to disclose the sale price or the prospective buyer other than to say the buyer was based locally.

"There is no deal signed yet but their intention is to open it as soon as possible for racing this season," Reger told The News. "As long as things move along I will let the new owner take over the operation of the track prior to the sale closing,"

Reger who has owned the track for most of the last 20 years, put the track up for sale last fall and said if he did not sell by the beginning of this season that the track would be no longer open for racing.

Reger said, in the days ahead, the identity of the buyer will be made public and initial plans for the upcoming season will be revealed by the new owner.

"They made me an offer that I accepted," Reger said. "This deal is something I've been working on for a while and it was finalized within the last 24 hours.

"The identity of the buyer will become known when the buyer and I choose to release the information, which I anticipate would be fairly shortly. What I can tell you it that the buyer will run it as a racetrack."

Reger said he will work with the new owner to move along the selling process as quickly as possible so that the new owner can alert the racing community to the plans.

"I'm happy for the racers at Lancaster that this deal has materialized," Reger said. "Now we just need to move the sale from a verbal agreement to one signed on paper in these next immediate days and then racing will continue."

Racing Discussion / Lancaster "most likely" not opening
« on: April 02, 2019, 10:57:58 AM »
With Lancaster most likely not opening this season i wondering where the Lancaster fans are going this season to watch stock car races.  Are you following a touring series , or switch to different track for the season.

I plan on getting to couple of the roc events and then most likely Ransomville and Genesee Speedway for racing fix this season. It sucks that Lancaster is not going to be opening most likely for this year first time in 30 years that i am not going to be at the race track for at least one race.

Really hoping the US open does happen this season

Why is there two tour series  NYSS and ROC, wouldnt it make sense to combine the two series into one. Which will add to talent pool and have larger fields of cars for the feature.

Great Event looks like the weather is going to be great. So how many Sportsman do we anticipate on showing up hoping for a field of at least 20 plus sportsman. Who is everyone pick to win the event tomorrow. I'm picking Patrick Emerling if he shows up to the event tomorrow. The kid has been on fire this year at Lancaster.

Looks like Rich Sharpe is suspend from Lancaster for the remainder of the season, This is defiantly one way to keep the numbers up with the street stocks but handling this situation and showing remainder of the roster the kind of behavior that happen on June 2nd is not acceptable.
