WCIS Reschedules Fall Shootout
PERRY, NY…. A late afternoon rain shower and more rain forecasted for the rest of Saturday evening, forced Wyoming County International Speedway (WCIS) officials to postpone the Shootout at the Bullring until Saturday October 11 at 2:00pm.
There was a drivers meeting during the rain delay that with track drying and with weather on the way and the temperature was dropping, the decision was made along with speedway management to pull the plug and run next Saturday afternoon. Qualifying was only completed for the 4 Cylinders. Spencer Speedway regular Paul Flye and 2013 divisional Champion Eric Hastreiter from Gainesville, NY picked up the victories.
For drivers that were unable to attend the originally scheduled Shootout, are encouraged to attend and will be put in their own qualifying event or at the tail end of a qualifying race pending on car counts.
“We are going to open up the tire rule for the Super Stocks ONLY” stated Promoter Jim Majchrzak. Holland Charger tires as well as the NY Super Stocks (NYSS) Tires can be raced. All other rules must meet WCIS track rules. Call the Speedway for more information.
There will be a scheduled practice session on Thursday October 9. Call Jim Majchrzak at (585) 245-2123 for more information.
Gates will open at 11:00am next Saturday with racing to get underway at 2:00pm. The tickets that were distributed by NAPA will be honored for this event and fans that were at the track for the originally scheduled event are encouraged to keep their rain stubs for admission.
