RACE OF CHAMPIONS LATE MODELS SERIES BACK IN ACTION ON “RETRO” NIGHT
THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AT LANCASTER NATIONAL SPEEDWAY

-Jerick Johnson to Make Long Tow in Honor of Veterans with POW-MIA Car-


Lancaster, NY – (July 10, 2018) – The Race of Champions Late Model Series will resume their championship chase this Saturday night at Lancaster (N.Y.) National Speedway. Dave Russell of Clarence, N.Y., along with a host of others including Bob Weber of Clarence, N.Y.; Frank Batista of Alden, N.Y., Terry Weldy of Clarence, N.Y., and others.

 

The Late Models will do battle in 30-lap clash on “Retro Night” at Lancaster, but one driver will be making a longer tow than normal for the event. Jerick Johnson of Faribault, Minn., who is based in Mooresville, N.C., will be competing in his POW-MIA Freedom Car. Johnson finished second at Lake Erie Speedway during the Late Model Series opener back in June.

 

Johnson will have his car on display and be making a personal appearance at the American Legion Event with the Vietnam Traveling Wall Memorial at Hyde Park in Niagara Falls, N.Y., as part of a Remembrance in Niagara. Johnson will have his car on display July 12, 13 and 14 before racing at Lancaster in the evening. The Race of Champions Late Model Series joins the VP Racing Fuels Sportsman, Street Stocks and 4-Cylinders. The night’s festivities will see some concession prices rolled back to days gone by as well a $2 draft beers beginning at 4:00pm and concluding at 6:30pm.

When: Saturday, July 14, 2018. Grandstands open at 5:00 pm.  Racing at 6:30 pm

Directions: The track is located at 57 Gunnville Road in Lancaster, N.Y., just North of Route 33 and minutes from the New York State Thruway.
