WILLIAMSON, NY (5/5/17)…. The 63rd auto racing season at Spencer Speedway will get underway Friday, May 12, with their annual Test & Tune session. Pit gates open at 3 p.m., allowing competitors the opportunity to sign in, obtain their 2017 NASCAR Licenses and check out the competition. On track action will start at 5:30 p.m., with round by round practice runs. Runs will continue until daylight ends, usually around 8 p.m.

Last year six separate divisions were on hand, including the weekly Sunoco Modifieds, Super Sixes and the “Grandpa Dog” 4-cylinders. Joining them were RoC Modifieds, Vintage stock cars and SuperStocks.

Local runner Daryl Lewis Jr. ran the fastest lap last year in his RoC Modified, with a lap on 19.30 seconds, 93.264 mph, around the flat half mile oval. There were 42 cars on hand last year for the Test & Tune session.

The NASCAR point season opens on the following Friday, May 19th at 7:15 p.m. Featured will be the NASCAR Sunoco Modifieds, Super Sixes and the “Grandpa Dog” 4-cyinders.

Spencer Speedway is located just fifteen minutes east of Rochester, NY, along Route 104 in the Town of Williamson. Spencer Speedway is the local “NASCAR Place to Race” for Central New York in 2017. Points earned each week at Spencer are counted as part of the national NASCAR Whelen All-American Point Chase.
