2013 BRP CanAm Late Model Series Tour Preview
   …18 Events @ 8 Tracks For the 11th Anniversary Tour…

St Catharines, ONT…The schedule for the 2013 Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) CanAm Series Tour includes 18 events at 8 different venues.  Returning for the 11th anniversary tour are Series standbys Black Rock Speedway, Little Valley Speedway, and Woodhull Raceway.  McKean County Raceway and Raceway 5 both return to the tour for the first time in several years. Five Mile Point Speedway, I 88 Speedway, and Penn Can Speedway have each scheduled first time BRP CanAm tour events.

The 2013 Tour will be book-ended at Ted White’s Woodhull Raceway.  The 11th Anniversary opener will be on Saturday April 27.  The 2013 Tour concludes on Saturday September 21 with the $1500 to win ISKY Cams Championship.  “The ISKY” has rotated from Cayuga County to Black Rock Speedway to Little Valley Speedway and for 2013 the high banks of Ted White’s Woodhull Raceway in the hills of Steuben County, NY.

A mid-season highlight of the 2013 Tour will be the Brock Young Memorial.  John Charlesworth, President of the Cattaraugus County Agricultural Society and Little Valley Speedway promoter, has set Friday July 12 for the eleventh annual running of this important event which rewards the winner with 6’ trophy and a $1422 check from the Young family.

The McKean Motorsports management team that operates the McKean County Raceway (MCR) has scheduled a “Return To Our Roots Special” on Thursday July 11.  This is significant for many reasons, but perhaps most important is that MCR is where the BRP CanAm style race cars gained popularity as an affordable alternative to super late models.  Dennis Schutt, MCR promoter in the late 1990s and early 2000s, was a founding partner of the BRP CanAm Series.

Jim Mazur and the Genesee County Fair Board have scheduled a return to Raceway 5 in Batavia, NY on Thursday July 18 during their County Fair.  After failed attempts by others, Mazur and his team have turned the corner on Raceway 5 and returned that track to the successful weekly operation is once was.  Raceway 5’s weekly Saturday night program is a partner in the BRP CanAm Series which awards BRP CanAm Series home track bonus points to its late model competitors.

The most highly anticipated events on the 2013 Tour are the first time ever trips to Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, NY, I 88 Speedway in Afton, NY, and Penn Can Speedway in Susquehanna, PA.  The East Gate Swing Tour dates are Saturday May 11 at Five Mile Point, Friday June 21 at Penn Can, and Wednesday July 24 at I 88.

The 2013 BRP CanAm Series Tour schedule: April 27 - Woodhull Raceway, May 11 - Five Mile Point Speedway, May 24 - Woodhull Raceway, May 26 - Little Valley Speedway, June 7 - Little Valley Speedway, June 16 - Black Rock Speedway, June 21 - Penn Can Speedway, June 22 - Woodhull Raceway, July 4 - Little Valley Speedway, July 5 - Black Rock Speedway, July 11 - McKean County Raceway, July 12 - Little Valley Speedway, July 18 - Raceway 5, July 24 - I 88 Speedway, August 22 - Little Valley Speedway, September 7 - Woodhull Raceway, September 14 - Little Valley Speedway, September 21 - Woodhull Raceway
