Whelen Comes Through Again
« on: February 26, 2018, 11:30:46 AM »
Whelen Engineering in Clinton, CT has again shown why it's the greatest sponsor in Modified history.

It will pay a winner's bonus of $3,500 to the winner in every WMT race in 2018. Up from $500 to each race winner in 2017.

That increase and the increase in the WMT point fund last year to $500,000 for the top 20 owner teams makes Whelen Engineering a very special sponsor for Modified racing. I don't know where Modified racing would be without the Whelen Sponsorship.

Myrtle Beach WMT race will pay a minimum of $10,000 to win.

The 250 lap race at Loudon in September will pay the Winner a minimum of $28,500. That with $25,000 in lap money and $3,000 to start will make for a very interesting race.

We need all of the race fans and Modified teams to support this event so it can grow to something even bigger and to show other speedways that something this big can work for other Modified events.

This is great news for the nascar mods I always thought they deserve the same pay as other top touring series.
