I bet DW has a whole new respect for those of us that play on the dirt now! Wonder if he had to change his shorts after that ride!!!

KC, 8th in points and you aren't happy at I-88? The points spread for the top 10 is all of 37 points! 2 weeks ago they had the closest finish ever at the track, it was in your class too! 100+ cars in the pits every night, a fast moving program to get everyone out early so they can get home at a reasonable hour? What's not to like!!!

Chris C, I've watched the video at least a dozen times now and from what I see, you didn't do anything wrong. You came out of the turn, corrected your line and unfortunately, you and RJ came together. Watching your hood pin, how far did you move down, 6 inches? It was just a racing incident, nothing more, nothing less!!!

Racing Discussion / Re: What reason you got out of Racing
« on: June 02, 2012, 10:07:39 AM »
For me, it just got to the point I didn't enjoy it anymore. After working all day, the thought of going to the shop every night to work on the car just didn't do it! So, I just walked away and, stayed away for almost 10 years!! Now, I've learned how to be a spectator again and enjoy going to watch.

I agree with what Gomer said, alcohol and ignorance! Some folks just can't handle the booze and go off the wall, every time! Now if there's a big police presence at I-88, I haven't seen it yet. I have seen a police car come out of the pits a time or 2 this year but nothing out of the ordinary. I do know they have several security people wandering around the spectator area every night. If there's been any problems in the stands, I haven't noticed that either.

That was definitely the best race of the night Matt! That is also just one of the reasons I-88 speedway is THE place to race in the Southern Tier!!!

Yes Jerry, this is the group Mike runs. He's been doing a great job too! When you come up, you should get to both tracks while you're here.

Expanding on what Joe said. Get yourself a notebook and write down everything you do! Especially if it doesn't work! How much stagger are you running? An inch, maybe an inch and a quarter is all you should need at I-88. Also, how much caster stagger do you have? On the old track there, I would run as much as 3 degrees. With the new surface, I would start at 1 1/2 and adjust from there. Once you find a setup that you feel comfortable with, you can do a lot with air pressures!

Ron, Jamie, your efforts made it one of the best opening nights I've seen in many years! It almost makes me sad that I won't be there this coming Fri.

Ditto!!! lol! The track was great, probably the best I've seen in years for an opening night, anywhere! The biggest, and pleasant surprise was seeing 3 distinct grooves for racing! Ron, Jamie and everyone did a knockout job getting things ready for what I'm sure is going to be the best season ever at the track!!!!! It was also great to see the place packed almost to standing room only! Stopped by the concession stand afterwards and got told they were almost out of everything! It was a great night!!!!!
Kind of makes me sad that I'm not going to be there next Fri. night, but, I'll be in Florida watching Buzzie take on the kids at East Bay!!!
