Racing Discussion / Re: Retired Modified Driver Chuck Kerfien
« on: June 01, 2020, 01:52:36 AM »
.........I am now 58 years old so I get what Leadfoot is saying about getting older.

I've got you by 10 years, and frequently find myself trying to figure out how I got so old, so quickly......
I'm in that same boat with you guys. I'm 61. At least we grew up in the greatest era of stock car racing in our area. If i could turn back the hands of time to relive some of those races,,, boy I'd do it in a heart beat.

Racing Discussion / Re: Fulton Raceway iconic wall torn down !!
« on: June 01, 2020, 01:30:02 AM »
Fulton was the last of a 3 day racing weekend for us. Spencer, Lancaster then Fulton.  Always looked for the car up on the sign, and then going inside to the unique seating. those were the days for sure.

RaceNewYork Karting Forum / GVKC UPDATE ON COVID-19
« on: April 03, 2020, 06:51:10 PM »
Due to the certain rules and restrictions in place from the Covid-19 outbreak we have to postpone the start of our race season. I cannot give you a set date yet on when we can open but when we do I am hopeful we will all bounce back! Also when we do have a date to open we will be adjusting the available racing weekends, and how many races will be counted for final scoring. I know I can't wait to get back to racing, but until then stay healthy!

RaceNewYork Karting Forum / GVKC SCHEDULE 2020
« on: January 14, 2020, 04:27:42 AM »
Here is our schedule for the 2020 season! Yes, it may look like a long season but we do not race in the rain so we expect to lose a few weekends because of the weather. The long schedule also allows families to take vacations and for our fellow racers to have a chance to be competitive at home while following the New York Karting Championship or any other series around.

Something new you might notice is that we are racing Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend this year! More plans are in the making for our Labor Day race. Also you might notice that we have our track configurations marked each week so you know what will be running that day. We will post what each configuration is with a map soon.

We also have 5 dates on the schedule for Vintage karts to come together and have some fun on a race day.

Mother's will be FREE on Mother's Day weekend!

Stay tuned for more information on our Annual Membership Meeting, Rookie School, our 2020 Rulebook, and any other updates for this season! If you have any questions in the meantime feel free to email us at GVKC60@gmail.com

RaceNewYork Karting Forum / GVKC Season is over, Thank you!
« on: October 27, 2019, 08:28:37 PM »
Today closed the racing season for our 60th Anniversary. Starting April 14th to October 27th made for a long season. We didn't have many totally rained out race dates this season. If it did rain the track was dried and racing continued, just shows the commitment the racers and the track has. I'd like to thank our track sponsors: Boon family, Action towing, Perinton Auto, Subway and Peppermints family restaurant. We thank you for your support. We'd also like to thank WACK " Track Talk" With Laurie McMahon Hixson and Chuck Brownell for the commercials and added discussion while on air about us. Thank you to RaceNY for letting us post on your site our racing agenda.  Would like to Thank Kenneth Ray "Papa Ray's BBQ" your BBQ was a big hit for our 60th Anniversary celebration. I'd like to thank all the race teams that came out and raced at GVKC this season, YOU were the show! We'd also like to give a shout out to the Sodus Microd Club for coming out and giving it a rip at our track this season, we hope to see you next season! We'd also like to thank the track staff and volunteers for there time helping out, without your help the races wouldn't have ran as smoothly as they did. Finally we'd like to thank the spectators that came out to watch us. Up next is our Banquet on Nov.9th, then a slite breather then we start this all over again. Thank you all for the great season and we'll see YOU in 2020!! #YOURPLACETORACE #GVKC
I knew i'd forget some one, Thank you Jeff DeMinck for having us out to Spencer Speedway for Kids Night.
