After mother nature postponed the final feature of the evening last Friday night.  The fans got an added feature to start the night out.  The track was fast and the car count picked up more new faces.

The IMCA Style Mods made their way onto the track.  Gary Lamphere and Keith Jack Lamphere made up the front row.  When the green flag dropped Brad Sites took the lead.  On lap two Keith Jack stole it away and held off the Sites machine until lap seven.  Sites took over the lead and never looked back.  He held off the Lamphere 98K with the entire feature going without a single caution.  Behind the top two the battle heated up between Gary Lamphere and Harry Ely.  When the checkered flag flew it was Brad Sites, Keith Jack Lamphere, Gary Lamphere, Harry Ely and Brandon Hillyard.

Street Stock class was the next feature to grace the track surface.  Kevin Garland and Rick Brown brought the field to the green.  A caution on the first lap sent the number 36 of Dan Force and the 20x of Rick Brown to the rear.  When the race resumed it was JT McKernan grabbing the lead with the two time feature winner Tommy Savercool in hot pursuit.  Lap eight saw another caution and on the restart Tommy Savercool stole the lead from the McKernan machine.  Savercool opened a lead, but the cautions continued keeping the field tight together.  The battle for second place between McKernan and Rich Sharpsteen took form.  JT held off the number 83, until lap 18 when he made the move into second.  When the checkered waved it was win number three in a row for Tommy Savercool, with Rich Sharpsteen in second, JT McKernan in third, Mike Chilson in fourth and Kevin Garland in fifth.

The popular Front Wheel Drive class was the third feature of the night.  Sixteen teams were on hand all hoping to bring home that checkered flag.  Randy Lane and Casey McPherson paced the field to the green.  Burt Maynard made a pass for the lead, but would only have it until lap three.  Kenny Underwood made the move in turn four and held on until lap seven.  Casey McPherson gained the top spot.   The feature event was only marred by one caution lap.  That helped the McPherson machine maintain a lead.   The cars were close together, but Casey was able to hold off the strong competition to record his first feature of the season.  Finishing second was Kenny Underwood, third to Mike Ely, fourth to Trevor Williams and fifth to Bob Schultz.

Rear Wheel Drive brought their feature to the starting line.  Tyler Belcher and Ed Navone made up the front row.  Navone grabbed the early lead, but it was Larry Colton who had his sights on the win.  On lap two Colton grabbed the lead.  He and team mate Mike Koser battled for the lead.  Larry managed to hold off the 36 of Koser in a feature that ran caution free.  That would be the third feature win for the 13 of Larry Colton.  Rounding out the field were Mike Koser, Tim Bush, Ben Hulslander and Tyler Belcher.  Last weeks feature winner Ben Hulslander celebrated in victory lane at the end of the evenings program.

The IMCA Style Mods headed to the track.  A new face behind the wheel of an IMCA is Bennett Lennox.  Great to see Don Cole back behind the wheel of his number 27.  Harry Ely and Gary Lamphere made up the front row.  When the green flag was dropped Keith Jack Lamphere jumped into the lead.  Jake Maynard who debuted his new car was riding in second.  He battled with Lamphere for the lead and gain the top spot on lap four.  It was Brad Sites who was hoping to make it two in a row as he made his way to the front.  Sites grabbed the lead away with Maynard staying within reach.  Behind the top two the battle was between the Lamphere boys with Keith Jack and his dad Keith looking for the third position. Keith Jack got around his dad for third.  He set his sights on second being held by Maynard. He got around the number 69 now looking to take away the lead from the Sites machine. As the laps wound down it was Brad Sites maintaining the lead with Keith Jack trying to steal it away.  When the checkered flag fell it was Brad Sites grabbing his second win of the evening.  Keith Jack Lamphere, Jake Maynard, Keith Lamphere Sr. and Harry Ely rounding out the top five.

The final event of the evening was the Pure Stock class.  Three teams were suppose to make it into the feature event.  Unfortunately for Dylon Hinkley he was unable to start the event.  Mechanical woes plagued the Hinkley machine.  The two drivers left to compete put on a great battle during the qualifying event.  Cody Kershner last years track champion would battle Craig Smith for the feature win.  That is exactly what happened, with Smith grabbing the early lead.  Their feature event was only ten laps, but it was a battle to the end.  When the checkered flag fell Craig Smith recorded another feature win over Cody Kershner.

This week will find the track holding a regular show with pit and grandstand gates opening at 4 PM.  Hot laps at 6:30, with the first green flag dropping at 7:00 PM.  The action is exciting and you won't want to miss a minute of getting "The Thrill On The Hill".
