PENN CAN POSTPONES TUESDAY’S CLASH OF THE CRATES; RACE RESCHEDULED FOR NEXT TUESDAY, MAY 24TH

With a forecast calling for A 70% chance of late day and early evening showers and temperatures dropping to the high 30’s tonight, Penn Can Speedway has decided to postpone Tuesday’s Clash of the Crates event. The race will be rescheduled for next Tuesday, May 24th.
“It’s a difficult decision to postpone tonight’s show but we have a lot of things to take into consideration in making the call”, said Promoter Dan Harpell. “It’s tough trying to predict the weather but we have teams travelling from as many as four hours away and with such a high probability of rain predicted between 3:00 and 8:00 p.m. we felt it is the right thing to do to save teams and fans from making the trip only to turn around and go home when it rains”, he added.
The show will be made up next Tuesday, May 24th at 7:00 p.m. featuring the Clash of the Crates for the GRIT and STAR Series 602 Crate Sportsman, along with STAR Series races for the IMCA Style Modifieds and Four Cylinders and a special event for the Street Stocks.
Bad weather has dominated the 2016 racing season thus far. This is the fourth rainout already, including three Friday’s in a row. It has been an extremely frustrating spring for Promoters, fans and drivers alike, with very little racing able to get in at this point.
This Friday night is a big show featuring the first of three appearances by the CRSA Sprint Cars. They will join a full show of Modifieds, 602 Crate Sportsman, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks, Crate Late Models and Four Cylinders. The Street Stocks were not originally on the schedule for Friday but  with the Tuesday rainout, along with the three others, we have added them back in. The complete information sheet will be on our Facebook page by Wednesday morning.
