The Payne's own the facility. It was also mentioned to me that Frank and his wife said they would run at least the Turbo Blue weekend while still actively seeking a true promoter.

Sunny he said Frank Payne to promote Thunder Mountain not Skyline, most are aware the Payne's own Skyline.

$$$$$$$ talks,  I bet if the price was right a week long lease could happen and it would be spectacular.

It looks to me as the track surface is not opened up from the previous week racing so the water does not penetrate. Tracks are showing dust in hot laps.

Those graders, discs, and water trucks burn fuel and somebody wants to get paid to run them. I think these things are at the root of most track related issues. Most, but not all, track owners want to turn off the lights a 1/2hr after the last feature and open the gates on raceday afternoon, they do not want to spend any more time and $$$ on the property than needed.

All 3 of those track should be working together to have a tri-track series and bonus thing going on. Also each one should race a different night. Maybe even rotating nights, that would be a pretty cool idea. Working together all 3 could do well,  fighting each other not so much, the racers and fans are the ones losing out.

Rouse needs to be parked!!!!  2 false starts, then didn't go on green, cars in back crashed.   But he's the track favorite. Can definitely see that.  Also why does the point leader "Rouse" get to start on the pole.  Makes for boring racing.

Because they do not handicap, they have a draw/redraw system in hopes of attracting new blood.

They look the same because the rules say they have to. I am certain that from the stands that it is difficult to see ingenuity but its there, those guys that keep in the throttle, those guys with the high corner speed, the ones that come onto the straights at a couple hundred more RPMS than everyone else, those cars have ingenuity, they are different you just cant see it.

Racing Discussion / Re: Skyline?

They are new at running a track and doing a fairly good job, but because they are new they are searching for what their niche could be. As a result of this "searching" they change procedures, formats all that stuff that teams and drivers need to have nailed down. Racers are a strange breed and most do not like change. Just tell them what its going to be and stick to it. Skyline staff also has a "do whatever it takes" attitude and while that might seem noble sometimes it is just best to say nope not tonight. They are far better at this now than a few years ago. They will get all the pieces in place, but will they be able to do it in time, I am not sure. One thing is for sure, the racing at Skyline is spectacular with very good track conditions almost weekly. I would love to hear why some teams actually stay away????

Appears the USAC drivers are very unhappy with the track conditions last night.

I hear they can tell right away because the color and texture is different than GM springs. Just buy the rated GM sets and change them often.

Thats what I like about freedom and Genesee top 3 redraw a Lot of different cars show up.

Yes the draw/redraw system keeps a steady influx of different teams showing up along with the regular runners.
