Just because you participate in a dangerous sport doesnt mean you shouldn't have to worry about insurance. You should not race at a track that does not have insurance. It's sad to think anyone would race without it. Case in point was a track worker at at track was hit by a flying wheel. Hurt real bad. Track didn't have insurance. Guy had to file bankruptcy from his wheel chair and ruined his life. All because the track owner didn't want to spend $1500 for insurance for an event. Thats un acceptable. Their are certain things that a track owner/operator MUST have to operate. And the top of the list isninsurance. Their are only like 3 companies that offer race track insurance. I would rather slash purses and raise ticket prices then to go without insurance. I hit the wall at shang2 in 2011. Hospital bill was $25,000. Part was paid by my own insurance and the majority was paid by track ijsurance. If your a racer and you have a family and you go race at a track that doesnt have proper insurance you are risking your families future and that makes you an a1 @sshole. Play the tough guy role all you want. I want no tomatoes on my whopper when your working at burger King because your stupid decision cost you everything.
