Congratulations to Andy J on his Arca race , I was impressed with his driving skills especially when he missed that accident by diving down to the grass and weaving through the wreckage. Good job  8)  John sr.

Racing Discussion / Darryl Ruggles had a hard crash @LOL
« on: June 05, 2020, 04:36:58 AM »
Darryl had what I would call a very serious crash at Canandaigua driving the #48 Sprint car , it appears to me watching on Dirt TV that possibly his throttle stuck wide open going into turn four, he hit really hard on the right side while running at full tilt , he did get out of the car with some help from track safety crew. The car appeared to turn right between the exit of turn three and entry of turn four, I think the throttle stuck wide open and prevented the car from turning left, he did get the car to turn left some at the very last minute and took a horrendous hit on the right side and then after the broadside hit on the concrete turn four wall the car then bounced back into the racing surface and flipped over. I have seen many accidents at a lot of tracks and I think this is the hardest hit that I have witnessed where the driver was able to exit the car under most of his power. Darryl , I hope you are not injured too severely and have a fast recovery.  John Sr.

Racing Discussion / Re: Kyle Larson

Keep your eye on the leadership that is ruining this city and country , this is how Chicago was born, Run a red light ( no problem, just remove the cameras ) , disobey the keep your distance rule, ( no problem, just call it mourning ) , Gunshot spotter speakers ( are always welcome in a civilized society ) , Failing grades in school ( no problem just eliminate test scores ) , Too much crime in the city ( no problem just quit reporting the facts) , Too many people in jail ( no problem just quit arresting individuals ) , Need a little xtra money for the family ( no problem just hire uncle Reggie @ 90K a year ) ,  What to do with Kyle Larson you ask ? When Bubba Wallace can commit the same mistake as Kyle Larson is accused of, that is when discipline should be applied. John sr.

Chris is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, he has determination and a lot of heart, he fully supports racing and is always giving 100% on the track.

( Shameless Plug ) I have been in business for 55 years and I have always had leaky FLAT roofs untill Chris stopped one day and said I can fix that leak, I said go ahead and lets see what you can do, well I was totally amazed with the outcome, he has since repaired four roofs with a system and type of material that once I saw it, I thought this system will work, well it's been five or more years and all is well.  John sr.

I was just going over everything again. I feel that my timing chain may have too much play? I can Rock the crank between 3-4 degrees according to timing tab before my distributor starts to move.

Car starts to act up as soon as a let off for corner entry and attempt to get back on throttle.

That won't cause the symptoms you are describing. Remember the dist has clearance in the gear to cam and the end play (up / down ) in the housing shims, your chain should be fine.

The engine internals don't know if you are in a turn or not.

Your fuel pressure ( 8 lbs, ) is too high for any thing that I would normally build, 5 - 6 lbs is more than enough for what you are doing. Also you have to check the accelerator lever clearance , no more than .015 clearance, plus check to see if there is decent squirt when pumped once.

You should check fuel pressure first, 4 1/2 - 7 lbs is good, a tad lower or a tad higher can work but it is outside the range of what the carb needs. Now raise the float so it just trickles / seeps out without rocking the car, probably 2 -3 flats on the nut adjuster, sounds to me the car is soft on the right side springs or right side ride height is low. Keep us posted on what fixes the problem.

I'm betting the town will add up the lost TAX revenue if the house's are not built and rezone that track property. Too bad the track is even considering closing, there will never be another track built to replace Wall Stadium.

Henrietta has left the tax rate alone but they upping the property values by gigantic amounts, I have two rental property's that are 50+ year old and in  2017 they were listed as 100% assessment,  1st house went up 39.7% and 2nd house went up 22.4% , last year a 3rd property with 100% assessment in 2017 and 50+ years old went up $50,000 in additional assessment, no updates or repairs were done.

Rockstar, your best information on handling issues would come from Pete Bicknell, he is very friendly and will give straight up advise even if you bought it from someone else, Look at it this way he built the car. keep us posted.
