I have been raving about this division before the season even started. This class was in single digits before the "great season cancellation of 2014". The 2014 US Open helped to start the revival with 28 cars in a thrilling Asphalt vs. Dirt Street Stock shootout. The Street Stocks started 2015 back in single digits, but got up to the high teens a couple times late in the year as drivers came over from other tracks and new drivers got involved. The 2015 US Open was a glimpse into the near feature with 23 cars on hand.
Going into 2016 there were 25 cars registered with a handful of drivers deciding to making Lancaster their new weekly track. So far this season there has been an average of about 19 cars per week with a high of 25 on 8/6. There have been 8 different winners, including 3 first time winners. 34 different drivers have earned points in 2016.
And, yes, as a reward the Street Stocks were put on the Sunday portion of US Open weekend where they will run a 35-lap feature.
