Like him or not you have to put Matt with some of the best in modifieds.. he is very focused at the speedway, smooth on the track and not to mention they build a dominant race car... he won every high paying race in the northeast this year plus a second at US open.well done Matt and team..

There's an interesting article about Matt, in the new issue of 'Speedway Illustrated' magazine.

this was written by someone on a Ct racing blog yesterday:

"M.H. Is no where near the driver most modified drivers are..........."

I'm still laughing.

"I'm still laughing."...That's funny, right there, says the tire guy that just got busted for greasing the tape!

Ah technically......the tire guy was waxing the tape.  ;D

So..the secrets out now. Matt "soaks" his tires with auto wax.

Since a stagger tape is about only  3/16 wide it does take awhile.  ::)

To some folks your not a great modified driver unless you race on the NWMT.  That's pretty short sited and ridiculous,IMHO.  Matt does what he wants to do and races where he wants to race and he's damn good and successful at it.

There is a lifetime worth of modified knowledge and experience in the Hirshman family, and I'm sure that has a lot to do with his success.
