Pierce picks up second 4cyl.feature as Barber and Krawczyk continue with their winning ways….

Jimmie Pierce Jr rolls off the feature starting grid from 6th and quickly moves to the front to collect his second feature of the night over the charging Jim Bryant.   Dave Krawczyk took only 4 laps to jump into the SST Super Stock lead and ride that wave to keep his undefeated streak alive.   Cam Barber, finding his way to victory lane after a 2 week absents.   The Mid-state vintage club was on hand. They showed that they came to race.
The evening start off with some fairly calm heat races with Jimmie Pierce Jr picking up the heat.   Dave Krawczyk winning his SST Super Stock heat and Cam Barber and Ricky Knapp Jr winning their SST Modified heats.
The #94 of Paul Flye and #77 Lee Krieb, lead the field to green.   And that’s where the calmness ended for the night. With about ¾ of a lap in mayhem broke out in turn 4 where the #11 of Frank Parsons Jr got turn all the way around and was T-boned in the passengers door by #4 Young Matt Hurlburt. After quite a lengthy delay Persons was helped from the #11 machine and taken to the area hospital to be checked out.   On the restart everyone decided to play nice and he rest of the 20 lap event was concluded with Pierce trying to stay smooth and not let Bryant sneak by. Third position was a heated battle between Jennifer Dennie’s #22 and the #1 of Tom Allacco with Dennie having her best finish of 2015.
The Mid-state vintage cars showed up to the Blacktop Bull Ring and they were there to race , not just show off these beautiful machine of yester year.  A nice mix of their sportsman cars and their vintage modifieds.   They are set for a 12 lap battle royal.   Jon Alford in his 1970 Ford Torino lined up beside the Big Block Chevy powered 1937 Chevy coupe. At the drop of the green the V-8’s took over the show as the dirt car styled Gremlin #47a of Ron Schadt followed the Alford ride to the front. Rip Ripley in the #99 Bodine Valiant was in tow of the leaders.   Schadt had the ol’ Gremlin inside, outside looking for any racing room possible.  At half way, Alford moved to the outside to pass a slower car and Schadt thought this was his opportunity to get by.   To Schadt surprise the slower car was right there so he took evasive measures and avoided the slower car but in the process crashed his own car into the third turn concrete wall.   Schadt also needing the help of the safety crew and ambulance attendance to exit his ride. After the red flag was lifted the balance of the vintage feature was far from boring as the Rip Ripley #99 decided to shoot for the win in the Modified portion of their show. Ripley also with Big Block Chevy power was using it to try and pass the Torino of Alford.   These to would also tangle on the back straight off turn 2. Ripley fish tailing 1, 2 ,3 times before he bounced his #99 off the back straight wall and that would flatten his right rear tire and send him pit side after a quick yellow. The green white checker to follow ended the Vintage battle, with Alford taking the modified version win and Chic Voit in the Ronny Martin looking yellow #4 Coupe winning the Sportsman division.
SST Super Stocks were up next and tonight was the first time this class has been out dueled as the class with most excitement.   Krawczyk started in the 4 position and like a surgeon sliced and diced his way to the front in only a few laps. The occasional caution slowed this feature up a bit, but it was the Dave Krawczyk #11k show as he put half a track of the great second place battle between Logsdon#09 and the car she had an issue with last week the #84 this week piloted by Phil Alhart.   Logsdon would get the better of the battle this week as she finished second to Alharts 3rd.
SST Modifieds were to closers of the evening.   Most people were wondering if the 2 weeks off Cam Barber took would have slowed the Bliss Garage machine.   Well that question was answered very quickly as Barber took his #01 ride from the 7th starting spot and had it in the lead in about 5 laps.  Ricky Knapp Jr. was running great but just not up to the level of Barber.  Making a late arrival to the speedway was Spencer Speedway regular Timmy Lewis in his sharp looking #41. Lewis not having a good run in the heat, but had his racer tuned up for the feature. So the feature went off pretty smoothly.
