2013 BRP CanAm Series Weekly Event Program Begins - Second Attempt
…Woodhull Opener Reset To Saturday April 20…
St Catharines, ONT…The 2013 Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) CanAm Series was planned to begin last Saturday at Woodhull Raceway. Mother Nature intervened and the new date is this Saturday (April 20).
Not all of this weekends racing activity will be at Woodhull Raceway. On Friday (April 19) Dean Hoag will open his Black Rock Speedway for the 2013 season. Hoag’s 2013 opener contains its usual variety rich program with racing for all weekly race car categories. BRP CanAm late model race teams will have the opportunity to test, tune, and qualify for their official Black Rock start on April 26.
Two were missing from last week’s press release which highlighted a long list of drivers hoping to win the Woodhull opener.
One of the missing was Mother Nature. The nasty lady showed up and won, but she gets no home track bonus points or earned no friends for ruining the gala opening planned by Ted White and his Woodhull Raceway team.
Also missing from last weeks list of potential opening night winners was Bruce (Thriller) Miller. Miller, the 2012 BRP CanAm Series Champion, had not completed all the details on his 2013 car, but Bruce and his hot rod will be ready this Saturday. In fact, if all goes well they may even be ready for a shake down session on Friday at Black Rock.
Miller won the final 2012 race at Woodhull and hopes to return to Woodhull’s Victory Circle for the 2013 opener.
All but Mother Nature are welcome for the Black Rock and Woodhull openers this weekend.
The 2013 BRP CanAm Series Tour event schedule will begin on Saturday April 27.
Last week press release included news of the pending arrival of John and Melissa Waters’ new baby. John reports that Dane Thomas arrived on Friday (April 12). The Great Dane weighed in at a healthy 7 pounds 13 ounces. Congratulations!
