2013 BRP CanAm Late Model Series Schedule Preview

St Catharines, ONT…The schedule for the 2013 Bicknell Racing Products (BRP) Series is nearly complete.  Included are returning tour events at Black Rock Speedway, Little Valley Speedway, and Woodhull Raceway.  McKean County Raceway returns to the tour for the first time in several years. Five Mile Point Speedway and Penn Can Speedway have both scheduled first time BRP CanAm tour events.  In addition, negotiations continue for a few more Series tour events to compliment Series weekly events at Black Rock, Raceway 5, and Woodhull Raceway.

The 2013 Series will be book-ended at Ted White’s Woodhull Raceway.  The opener for the 11th Anniversary season will be on Saturday April 27.  The 2013 Series will conclude on September 21 with the $1500 to win ISKY Cams Championship which has moved to Woodhull this year.

A mid-season highlight of the 2013 Series will again be the Brock Young Memorial.  John Charlesworth, President of the Cattaraugus County Agricultural Society and Little Valley Speedway promoter, has set Friday July 12 for the eleventh annual running of this important event which rewards the winner with 6’ trophy and a $1422 check.

The McKean Motorsports management team that operates the McKean County Raceway (MCR) has scheduled a “Return To Our Roots Special” on Thursday July 11.  This is significant for many reasons, but perhaps most important is that MCR is where the BRP CanAm style race cars gained popularity as an affordable alternative to super late models.  Dennis Schutt, MCR promoter in the late 1990s and early 2000s, was a founding partner of the BRP CanAm Series.

The most anticipated events on the 2013 tour are the first time trips to Five Mile Point Speedway in Kirkwood, NY and Penn Can Speedway in Susquehanna, PA.  May 11 is the date for Five Mile Point with June 21 on the schedule for Penn Can.

Tour events pay a minimum of $1000 to win and $150 to start.  There is never an entry fee or membership required for BRP CanAm events. The season long Series champion will earn a minimum of $5000 cash plus several thousand dollars worth of products provided by Series marketing partners - Bicknell Racing Products, ACL Bearings, BC Designs, Beyea Custom Headers, Close Racing Supply, Cousins Designs, Damon’s Dyno’d Race Engines, Dick Berggren’s Speedway Illustrated, F/A Products, Felpro Gaskets, Gater Racing News, Hoosier Tires, ISKY Racing Cams, Lias Tire, Miles-Agency.com, Melling Performance Engine Parts, National Parts Peddler, Phair Enterprises, Scat Crankshafts, Signs Plus of Kanona, Total Seal Rings, Wiles Racing Driveshafts, and Wrisco Racing Aluminum
