Tom Smalley passed away today, Not only was he my uncle but he was a great friend, someone who got me started racing. Anyone who knew Thomas , knew  he had a lot of fun racing.I would give anything to have one more  Conversation about racing again with him !!!!!

RIP Mr. Smalley. Great person and also a great race car driver. We were at Dundee Speedway in the 60's during the Saturday afternoon fair races and Tom won that day. Bob Shaddock was the announcer back then and he kept saying that was Tom's 1st win. Tom Smalley and his famous #00 claimed many more feature wins though out his career.

They don't make race car drivers like Thomas anymore. In the 60s and 70s he built his own cars by himself from the ground up. He had documentation over five hundred wins. Didn't matter dirt or asphalt.Four cylinders, late models ,street stocks, he won a race in every class you could think of !!!  They put a bounty out on Mike Colstin, At 5 mile point. Thomas went down there that Saturday to Kirkwood and brought that money back with him.  I have thousands and thousands of stories about the guy. But in the end I'm just glad he was my friend.
