What oil do you run in your Bert Transmission?
« on: April 03, 2016, 06:42:18 PM »
I read on the Bert Website that it requires type F transmission fluid. I also have heard a bunch of other fluids like MTF from other people. What do you run?

The guy who sold me the car had MTF racing trans fluid in it. I changed it and put in type F as per website. I have heard many different answers. I was Just curious.

We have ran nothing but gear oil for years in our Berts and have never had an issue.

Never put gear oil in a bert! It will take the clutches out. I use Spectro Race Trans fluid in mine and haven't had any issues in years. You can get it from Behrents, Bicknell sells Torco trans fluid or you can use Amzoil trans fluid. I've used all of these without issues. Also, whichever type you choose it should be changed about every 6-8 races or at least twice a season.

Cat urine is a great tire softener.
