Over 25 drivers from area tracks have signed up to participate at the "Challenge The Champions" go kart event tomorrow nite at Seneca Grand Prix Speedway in Watkins Glen, NY.  Word has been sent that the crew from the #4 Kevin Harvick Team will be on hand at some point to race with the folks attending!!  Racing memorabilia signed by Kevin will be entered in the silent auction taking place!!  Fun night of karting for everyone!!!

how was the turnout? i had to miss it as i was busy putting transmissions in and out of the hauler so we could go racing tonight. luckily i think i finally got a hold of a good one. sometimes driving a 34 year old vehicle gets challenging when its time for major repairs, especially on short notice.

Kudos to Betty Sherwood, her family and friends that helped.  They were all up against a lot of disappointments but from what I could see everyone had a great time.  The races got a bit more exciting as the sun set...lol.  Money raised for the Spalding Foundation is the bottom line, and for that I know everyone is grateful.  Good job, Betty!

Turn out not great fan wise, but the drivers came though as always and hopefully had a good time!!  Our PA system person didn't make it at all, therefore I felt badly that the drivers were not recognized for their time and our announcers had no way to announce the racing. Big thank you to all the drivers & their friends who supported the event as well as Gary Folk, Todd Burgess for flagging; Tom Cummings for doing what he could as far as announcing the event with no PA; Kelli McMahon for arranging the appearance of the #4 crew chief and some of their team;  Billy Maynard for the banners; our sponsors Dandy Mini Mart, Crooker Landscaping, Elmira Paint, Parmenter Inc., U Store It, Horseheads Rental, Elmira Heat Treat and Johnson Pools & Spas.
A huge thank you to PDR Catering from Elmira, NY for coming through at the last minute to set up a food/drink concession!!!!  Jesse Little, K&N driver and crews representing other K&N Teams.  Special thanks to the volunteers who helped make the event possible.

I talked to Jesse today and thanked him for taking time to help out. He enjoyed it and will probably do it again if asked. I will try to get to some of the other drivers and get their contact info for next year.
