Traditional street stocks?
« on: September 26, 2017, 09:25:42 PM »
Any one know what the term traditional street stocks mean that is said to be returning to land of legends? Just wondering where the class is headed. Because it's far from traditional street stocks right now, and before I go buy a late model transmission that comes with a car with a Camaro clip to compete I would like to know what direction it's headed if anyone knows.

In my mind I have a traditional street stock. And before I put my car away for the year I would really like to know what the plans are.

Got a Facebook response from the owner.  Same as Outlaw rules next year.  That's too bad. They must not want cars.

I actually had a longer conversation on FB with the guy from the track and he answered all of my questions quickly which is nice.  Seems like they have a plan to level the playing field a little.

I think what kept more of those people away were the drivers at CMP. Not the rules. I know of at least 2 cars that would run there tomorrow if a few of the douchecanoes that race there were gone. A lot of loud mouths and big egos.

Much less drama in the class at Genesee/Woodhull/Outlaw.

Traditional street stock won championship at genesee this year .just goes to show you do not need a late model street stock to win races .

ME:
Says traditional Street Stocks in the article.    What does that mean?  Except for a few, the Street stocks are not very traditional there now.

Land of Legends Raceway:
Hi Ed. We will be running the same rules for Street Stocks that we’re run this past season.  These rules are the same as Outlaw Speedway.

ME:
WHAT WILL BE TRADITIONAL STREET STOCKS?

Land of Legends Raceway:
Traditional, as in they have been running in some form for years at the track. We will be defining exact rule package as the fall and early winter comes along.

ME:
I built a car for the Pure Stock class and Jermie threw the rule book in the trash.  Is there any way we could have a class that is not all that Late Model stuff?

Land of Legends Raceway
That is the goal, with a reasonable tech included. We do know that older bodies are becoming harder to find, so we are hoping we can work with that class to have a good fair and fun class. We will be meeting with current racers in the off months to clean up this issue.

Probably, but one can hope!  It was very sad that they never looked at any of my safety equipment. At the very minimum they should do that right?
